Zig Marbling

Zig Marbling

Hi All,

A couple of quick sales alerts: Simon Says Stamp is having 25% off all Copic markers now through April 1st (use code COPIC at checkout). And, Ellen Hutson is having 15% off all Hero Arts products now through March 18th (use code HeroArts at checkout).

I have a different sort of card for you today – abstract and CAS. I used my Zig watercolor markers similar to how I used my distress markers on THIS CARD and THIS CARD. However, on today’s card, my coloring was more random, giving a little bit of a marbling effect. Here is a close-up:

I used my mini MISTI for the first time today. There’s not much to say about it except that it’s smaller – everything else is the same. It’s definitely a little more convenient on the desktop. However, I use my MISTI for other more larger applications, such as stamps that hang off the edge of the cardstock. Or, 6×6 background stamps. If I was only going to buy one, it would have to be the larger one.

Enjoy the video!

Yes you are incredible! I would never have selected the abstract but it works well. I have been up late (in Oz) colouring some flowers on an Easter card with my Zig Watercolor pens and I found the tapping technique worked really well and sometimes just before it dried completely I put a little more colour down and it blended itself beautifully. But you have to know when to stop. I learned that the hard way earlier LOL!

Beautiful card, as always! I would have never thought of adding the black Zig, but that was key in taking this from great to awesome! Thanks for the inspiration!

It has a very oriental/Persian look to it. I love the colors you used, and the gold embossing just helps with the overall look. Hope y’all are getting moved in OK and the unpacking is not too stressful. 🙂 Thank you for sharing your artwork! ~ Andrea

Ohh!! I love, LOVE the vibrancy of this markers, the green shades are so amazing and the way you blended the 3 colors works great.
This is a very beautiful image, love the gold embossing, I can see it in vivid pinks, blues and purples, the possibilities are endless.
    Thank you for sharing Darlene.
How’s the unpacking going? I hope things are falling in place smoothly for you and your family.
    Big hugs,
    Maria.

Hi Maria. The unpacking is still in-process. My craft room is decently organized, although the closet is a huge mess. Just taking it one bit at a time. Thank you for asking! 🙂

OMGosh Darlene, I think I’m on favorites overload. There just can’t be a one favorite anymore. I would never have chosen that particular stamp to work on for a card! Just goes to show you how little foresight I have. Wonderful job, my biggest problem is trying to decide which stamps I really want to buy since I obviously can’t buy them all.
    Once again BIG THANKS!!!

The black did the trick for me. It was a WOW!! Very interesting to watch. Thanks Darlene. Well girls I am off on a 9 night cruise to the Pacific Isles leaving Sydney Australia next Monday with my eldest daughter (hubby didn’t want to go). I am getting excited. Not sure if I can use my computer on board so happy cardmaking.

I don’t know how you do it Darlene. I would have looked at that stamp and thought-“What is with all these squiggles?”. Yet another impressive work of art. Love the black and gold and the balancing of the two hearts.
