Hi All!
I feel like I’ve been using stars a lot lately. I think it has to do with the Tiny Stars Background, which I love and keep using with lots of other star-related stamps. Last I checked, it is in-stock at Ellen Hutson. Sometimes this stamp can be hard to find.
I used my Stampin’ Up! Star framelits (which I also used on THIS CARD a couple of weeks ago) and my Enchanted Gold embossing powder (another fav I’ve used a lot) to create the shiny star. The tiny stars are white-embossed on vellum. I mention in the video that my heat tool has two settings on it – low and high. For vellum, I keep it on the low setting because vellum is so fragile. It takes much longer to melt the powder, but it barely warps at all. I don’t know if other heat tools have multiple settings, but this is a great feature to look for.
Okay, so about the vellum… I purchased this Bazzill Vellum. I should have noticed that it was only 21lb. It’s too thin for heat embossing. I think it would be great for layering, but not heating. When I heated it, it got all wavy and curled, even on my low heat tool setting. I ended up using the Paper Studio vellum that I have been using for awhile (I couldn’t find any online links to this vellum – I purchased it a my local JoAnn’s). Although I like this vellum, I wanted something a little better quality. I plan to order some thicker vellum soon, maybe the Bazzill 40lb vellum. I will let you know how it compares.

Gorgeous card Darlene, thanks for sharing. I am now at the end of 2011 of your video’s and just read the drama you went thru’ with SU. So, I just want to say, I am so glad that you did not take down any of your amazing video’s ( which I so enjoy ) and that you made the right decision. I, like you, enjoy all the different products in the paper crafting world and could not imagine just using one line.
You have a wonderful talent and are so inspirational to everyone that comes across your site.

I love how you cut out the star & embossed it with grogeous colors. What I really want to mention is how you lay the embroidery on the card by just using the adhesives in the back and not worry on putting it in the front. Yes simply card but absolutely awesome. Thank you, Darlene!

Oh Darlene, I just came home from running some errands and all I wanted to do was to see if you had posted your video. I love this card, it’s simple but beautiful, the starry stamp is a must have, it was out of stock but now, it’s back so I’m getting it. I didn’t know there was a special glue for Vellum, I always have the hardest time using just regular white glue and the glue dots are always visible from the front. Thanks for the information about it, I’m also getting that ASAP.

Beautiful card!! Thanks for sharing. I like how you cut away the vellum from the top of the star, therefore not getting overwhelmed with all the tiny stars. Very ingenious!
