Hi All!
I’m posting this week’s card on Tuesday night because I will be in my first ever surfing lesson tomorrow morning! It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, so I’m very excited!
Do you just totally love this stamp? My sister and I were at the Great American Scrapbook Convention and immediately fell in love with it. It just screamed watercolor to me, and I wanted to keep it uncluttered. It just stands alone, you know?
I applied ink to the sky in long horizontal strokes to create the illusion of the wind blowing through her hair. I added some glitter with dazzling details behind her to show some magic that happens when the wind hits her. Just like I feel like my girls are magical. I just love this!!
Anyway, enjoy and have a great week!!

Darlene, I am so enamoured with your card that I went over to Unity and purchased the set! I have been stamping 20 years and rarely get this excited about a stamp set. Love it and love your card! Thanks for sharing your inspiration! Blessings.

Hello Darlene: What Louise Fox did is the same thing I did…..I went to the Unity Stamps web site and I bought it!!!!! It’s just perfect for a lot of occasions. I love the water color technique and the SU markers are great for it. I’ve said this in the past and I will say it again…..you are an amazing artist, you have the incredible ability to transform the simplest stamp into a stunning card. Thank you so much for the inspiration we all get every Wendesday.
Maria.
PS. How did the surfing lesson go?
Darlene DeVries
Thank you Maria!! 🙂 The surfing went well – I came out in one piece and had a great time!!

A wonderfully simple, eloquent card. True artistry is knowing when to show restraint.

I bought this stamp and a few others after watching you do this video some months back. I just love it and you made it look so easy. I love the way it came out.
Stephanie
I am so glad I “stumbled” onto this video. The stamp set is perfect the autism awareness cards I’ll be making to help spread the word that girls, like my daughter, are autistic too 😀 Tyfs!! Is your card a A2 size card??
Darlene DeVries
Stephanie, that sounds wonderful for this stamp! Yes, it is an A2 card.
