Wednesday’s Card: Vertigo Birthday Fishes

Vertigo Fishes

Hi All!

Since last week’s card was a little intense, I decided to go pretty simple today. I have the coolest new product – it’s called Vertigo by Imagine Crafts. It’s a cardstock I guess you could say, but you can see through it, and it has an optical-illusion sort of look. I thought it would be perfect for the fish bowl water. I still love this Best Fishes stamp set by Simon Says Stamp. In case you missed the last card I made with it, you can see it HERE.

I used Copic markers to color the fish. I created dots/scales on the fish with a completely different color. Here is a close-up:

Enjoy the video and have a great week!

Copic colors used: V01, V12, V15, YG03 (violet fish); Y11, Y15, Y17, B000 (yellow fish); C1 (shadow)

Really cute card, the vertigo paper sure does look like water! Never heard of it before, hopefully you will use it again or is it just for water?

WOW!! Darlene, I’ve never seen anything like this paper before, it’s so fabulous, it does look like water, how amazing!!! Could you tell me if this has like plastic on the front? is it like those tumbler glasses that have an image that changes when you move it? I think it’s fantastic, I love it. Your card is just amazing, those little fishies are adorable and they do look like they are swimming happily in their fish bowl.
You my dear, are such an inspiration to me, you really give me the little push I sometimes need to explore other products and experiment with them, to create truly beautiful things. I love the fact you try a new product out there and then, post your impressions of it and, honestly and sincerely, give your opinion about it. That helps a lot Darlene, that expands my crafting horizon incredibly.
Thank you, thank you so much for sharing your love of paper crafting with us.

Maria, yes, the paper does have a plastic-kind of texture to it, but it’s not bulky at all. Your comment is so very kind – thank you as always!! 🙂

Super cute card! Thx for showing this vertigo cardstock as I’d never heard of it and it is cool. Like how you added the “scales” to the fish, it makes them much more interesting. I appreciate your videos, Darlene. 🙂
