Hi All!
This tree came from the Tree Friends stamp set by Mama Elephant. So pretty!
I wanted to create a background for this tree, so I used Heather Telford’s masking techniques. She is seriously the queen of masking!! You should check out her site – lots of beautiful cards. Anyway, it’s actually quite easy and the results are fantastic. 🙂
Enjoy the video and have a great week!

That is just so pretty! And you make it look so simple! 😉 Love the scene and how you did the grass and sky with the masking. I also love how you blocked in the sentiment!
Perfect!

So pretty.

What is the material you are using for the reposition masking that you do? Would like to be able to use that on my cards
Darlene DeVries
MaryAnn, I think you mean the Eclipse Masking Tape.

I love your you tube tutorials. What do you like better, Tim Holtz distress markers or stampin up markers? I see you use both but wonder if one is better. I have the Tim Holtz and love them, but am always on the lookout for new products.

I really love the Stampin’ Up! colors – beautiful and vibrant. So, I’ve always loved their markers. I just recently purchased the distress markers. I really enjoy using them on watercolor paper, but honestly I still tend to prefer the color tones of Stampin’ Up!. Tim Holtz has released a bunch of new colors recently, so they are catching up a little in my mind. Pink has always been a problem for me with his line, but the Picked Raspberry really helped a lot (extremely similar to one of my favs, SU Melon Mambo). Maybe it’s because Stampin’ Up! does a great job of organizing their colors – that makes me feel more comfortable. I feel like the distress ones are just thrown out randomly. Does that make any sense at all? SU markers aren’t as good at blending on paper, so you could argue that both are essential, lol! 🙂

This card is GORGEOUS! I just want to stare at it all day. Anyone would be lucky to receive this. I’ve been looking at Mama Elephant stamps for a while and I may have to cave and finally buy a set or two or 10!! I tend to keep my handmade cards on display for a long time. The very first one I ever received is still on display (and went up over 2 years ago)…a card like this would certainly never be taken down, either. 🙂

Darlene: I wish everyday was Wednesday, because your youtube videos are so inspiring. You break it down so well that even us crafting challenged feel that perhaps we too can make a beautiful card like you. This week’s tree card was wonderful.

Darlene, thank you again for showing us how to create this beautiful card. Masking seems to be easy to do but yet it takes some creativity as well. I am definitely going to try this technique, can’t wait for the next creation of yours.
