Wednesday’s Card: Sympathy

With Sympathy

Morning All!

I always like to keep a sympathy card on hand because you just never know. There is a woman in my Zumba class who, whenever I say something about the future, she says, “God willing…”. So, for example, I say, “See you next week!”. She says, “Yes, God willing.” It’s so true, isn’t it?

I also like very simple sympathy cards. It doesn’t need fluff and decor. It just needs a message. And I have to tell you, I have no idea where I got these foam sentiment stamps from, but they are absolutely horrible!! I think they were the first set I ever bought. I had to go back and fill in the letters, so it doesn’t look all that great.

Anyway, I hadn’t used my Copic markers in awhile, so I broke those out too.

Enjoy and have a great week!

SONG: “Catch the Wind” by Donovan. I just love how peaceful this song is – don’t you?

That is a lovely card. Although it is perfect for a sympathy card, it would really be great for most anything. Birthday, thinking of you, whatever. I can’t believe you draw that line around the edges without a ruler!!!! If I did it it would be so crooked and shaky I wouldn’t even be able to send it to anyone. Nice job! tonilea

I just love this card so much. I will have to get this stamp as it looks like a great image. You must have a steady hand my lines would be crooked. Tks for sharing!

I just love this card. The outline around the square just sets it off perfect. I have this stamp and might just have to copy your idea. Thanks for sharing.

Yay! I’m excited, because I have that stamp image and I still have yet to ink it up. Now, after watching your video, i’m inspired to go home and use it. I loved watching you color, and I really loved how you kept the card simple and left all the white space. Your card came out so pretty, Darlene.

What a beautiful card. What company made the sentiment? I love the font! I just found your blog and enjoy it very much. TFS

Oh my gosh! What a beautiful card! Very calming…
My precious father, who I just lost last 7/10, used to always say ‘God Willing’ too!
Sometime’s he’d say, “GW”…..brought a smile to my face as I read your post.

What a very lovely and classy card for such an occasion, just perfect. Wouldn’t it be easier if you mounted those foam stamps on some EZ Mount so you could use them with your acrylic blocks? Maybe it would make the stamping a bit more even, so you don’t have to fill in the gaps. Don’t know if it works though, because I don’t own any foam stamps, but it just came to mind;-)

I cannot believe you drew those outside lines freehand! What a steady hand! This is a beautiful card and your video is another fabulous one!

Gosh, what a great card…simple, yet evocative. I need to make a sympathy card and something like this will be a perfect scheme. Thanks also for the re-introduction to Donovan, I just had to go get that song (and several others ).
