First, I want to say how lucky I am to have so many caring and thoughtful people reading my blog. You guys leave the nicest comments!! It really brightens my day every time I read one. I read a lot of them to my kids – they love it!! You make me look so cool to them! 😉
Okay, so on to the card for this week. I just love this butterfly set from Hero Arts – the details on the butterfly – especially when stamped in black ink – are so pretty! Another product I used here that I absolutely love is Stickles. I’m sure a lot of you already have this product, but if you don’t, go get some! You know how sometimes you want to add glitter to something, but it’s just such a mess, and it gets all over the envelope when you mail it, then it sticks to other parts of the card…. on and on. Well, you just apply this glitter glue and it NEVER moves. You can’t brush it off. It’s PERFECT for scrapbooking too because you don’t have to worry about it getting on your photos. Anyway, enough said. Enjoy and have a great week!!

Beautiful card, daughter and painting. Question: what is the big adhesive contraption you have been using? Does it work well for you? It looks a little cumbersome, however I am struggling to find the perfect adhesive. One with excellent stick and control.
Thank you Darlene!

LaurMKK: My adhesive contraption (well put!) is a 3M ATG 700â„¢ Gun. You can get it HERE. Yes, it is very bulky. I don’t like it very much for cards – I use it mostly for scrapbooking. But, it’s so darn economical that I try to use it on cards when I can. I usually use DUCK adhesive, but they discontinued the type I use awhile back – I’m just using up what I bought before they changed it. Once it’s gone, not sure what I am going to do! I’ll have to keep you posted. 🙂

Darlene,

Thats a pretty good painting for a 10 year old. Congratulations to her. Your card is also gorgeous. My husband walked through as I was reading your post and was also impressed. He can be quite hard to please with cards. The colours you have used are so pretty and the stickles just set the whole thing off.

Darlene, your daughter’s painting is awesome. My daughter took some art classes when in school and I framed and hung all her art work. It is such a great achievement. And now I look back at them and am reminded of how proud I am of her! And, of course, your card is stunning… so simple and classic. Just love it.

I love your card. I’ve been using a lot of butterflies lately. Baja Breeze is one of my favorite colors and I love the way you paired it with the Crumb Cake and black. I’ll have to give that a try soon!
Your daughter’s painting is fabulous! She looks so proud of herself and should be!
