Wednesday’s Card: Shimmer Butterfly

Shimmer Butterfly

Hi All!

Hope you’re having a great week. Today I used my metallic blue gelato and the Gorgeous Grunge set by Stampin’ Up! This set is really becoming my go-to set right now! I used it on some scrapbooking pages this weekend and I also created some snow on a Christmas card with it (more on that card later).

The butterfly and tile die are both by Memory Box. I couldn’t resist buying this butterfly stamp – so pretty!

Here is a close-up of the shimmer created by the gelato. You can see how the blue dots on the paper are really sparkling. I used the gelato for stamping as well as coloring, so you’ll see two different ways to use it in the video.

Enjoy!

Aaaaaaand obviously that was *supposed* to be on your haul video. I guess I need more coffee this morning! HA! I have that blue metallic gelato, but haven’t used it ever… even though I’ve had it for at least a year. I think it’s time to bust it out and give this a try, because that butterfly ended up GORGEOUS!

    Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for another great card and video. Love the butterfly, gelato technique and Wednesdays’ videos, so helpful. Only have a few of the big brush pens and not blue, may have to order that color. Know that I do need the Grunge set from Stampin’ Up love the effect that they give. Thanks for the inspiration!

    Beautiful!!

Just an FYI, if your liquid pearl does form a peak, tapping the back of the paper a few times will get the peak to settle down a bit. But you need to do that right away!

    Darlene, you inspire me!

Hi Darlene. LOVE this card. Your butterfly is so gorgeous – love the color and the sparkle … and the pearl accents are perfect. Thanks for the video. I’ve heard of Gelatos before, but didn’t know what they were. Loll xx

    Hello Darlene,

I was wondering if the Pitt pens are the only ones that will work over the gelatos? I wouldn’t mind getting the gelatos, but have copics and don’t want to invest in more pens. What do you think?

Hi Robin, someone else asked me that question at some point. I tried the Stampin’ Up! markers, and they also worked!
