Serene Silhouette

Serene Silhouette

Hi All,

A quick and very simple card for today. Distress markers with emboss resist on watercolor paper. I made another version of this card with a sympathy sentiment.

Enjoy!

Love it…quick and easy. Will that work with SU markers on water color paper also?

Sheri, I find the distress markers are easier to blend than SU markers on the watercolor paper. Maria just commented that she wets the paper first before using the SU markers, so I would try that. I’m going to try that myself!

Love the water color look on this card, this is my favorite medium to do my cards. I have this stamp set and it’s so beautiful, all of the images in it really stamp with perfect detail.
I don’t have the distress markers but I’ve had great success with SU markers on water color paper but I wet the paper first a little bit, not drenched but just “moist”. It works for me.
Thank you for another great tutorial, beautiful CAS card.
    Maria,

Very pretty card, sometimes simple is the best. The watercolor look with the distress markers is great. I love this set and I am using that branch for my Christmas card this year.

What a great card Darlene. I don’t have the distress markers but have lots of distress ink pads. Do you think I could use the ink pads and paint the color on with a paint brush?

Paula, I would smear ink on a craft mat and pick it up with a paintbrush and a little bit of water. You can always add more water to the paper afterwards. Hopefully that will give you some vibrant colors.

I love how you showed us the different way of using embossing powder, stamps, inks and distress markers on this card. Absolutely love it!!! Can’t wait until next week, thanks Darlene.

Fabulous card. Was pleased to see how you did the W/coloring with these markers. I’m finding that mine seem very dry, even though I’m storing them horizontally. You did a beautiful background; it looked so easy, but yet was so effective against that embossed bird stamp. Really striking card. TFS & for making the videos.

Thanks for another great tutorial video, Darlene. I appreciate how you explain the process and you make me wish (not for the first time!) that I had some distress markers. I read your post to Paula about trying it out with the ink pads and a brush. I make give that a shot! Thank you!

You do wonderful videos – so quick, informative, and real. I love how you had to take out that little eraser piece, redo the sentiment, and fix the embossing on the birds – I have to fix a million things on my cards – LOL! Lovely card – saw it on SCS and had to come see your blog. Congrats on being the FS this week.
