Hi All!
I’m really getting into the Christmas card-making! Of course, I HAD to make a card using the owl punch. It’s been awhile! I used the liquid applique for the hat fluff – so cute!!
For the snow at the bottom, I used a mix of white embossing powder and mystic fire embossing powder (which is the same as Stampin’ Up!’s iridescent ice, but I didn’t have any of that on hand). The snowflakes are just mystic fire, which gives a shiny, glittery kind of look but the glitter isn’t constantly shaking off! A couple of years ago I sent out a card with glitter and it was everywhere! This is a great way to get that look without the mess.
And since we’re right around Thanksgiving, I just want to say thank you to everyone for all your nice comments. I read all of them and if you are from another country, my kids go nuts!! Seriously… it really keeps me going!!
Have a great week!

Darlene,
What a hootin’ cute card! I didn’t know there was a VersaMark Dazzle Ink. Can you tell me what you use this for and what’s the difference from SU! VersaMark watermark pad. Where can you get this VersaMark Dazzle Ink? Thanks for sharing your awesome cards with video!

Darlene – This card is simply adorable. Where can I get the Mystic Fire embossing powder? Thanks
Darlene DeVries
Teresa – I bought the mystic fire at a small stamping convention over the summer. I searched the vendor on line and couldn’t find anything. You could purchase Stampin’ Up!’s Iridescent Ice embossing powder HERE… it is comparable.
Pam – There isn’t a huge difference between the regular Versamark and the Dazzle Versamark. When you heat emboss with powder, there is no difference. However, when you just do tone-on-tone stamping, there is a little shimmer to the Dazzle version. I bought it at JoAnn’s.

Darlene, This is the cutest card. I just love the owl punch. That little guy is so versatile. I also loved your music. Such an upbeat christmas carol. Who is the artist?
Darlene DeVries
Diana – thanks for the comment! The song is from YouTube because I didn’t have a holiday song the right length. The artist is The Garagista All Stars. Happy Holiday!

hi darlene,
i just love the owl punch! and all the cards you have used it on! birthdays, and christmas and more! i have been trying to purchase it from SU for a while now, and the website never works for me. any idea how i can get my hands on this punch?
Darlene DeVries
Karen – after seeing you are in Canada, I did a little research. I was surprised to find out that no one outside of the US can buy from me. 🙁 So, you’ll need to go to the Stampin’ Up! Canada site HERE. You can click “Find a Demonstrator” to see if there is someone who is close to you, then use that person’s name to get the preferred pricing on your order.
