Hi All!
One week until Christmas! Yeah!! Things are just crazy right now, aren’t they? Gift-buying, parties, final exams, and school events on top of the existing hectic schedule of sports, homework, and activities. Last night, I decided to just sit on the couch in front of the tree and the fireplace for a few minutes. I was just exhausted. Within about a minute, both of my girls were sitting with me. It was almost like they were drawn to the peace. We sat there and talked for about 15 minutes. No TV, no homework, just us and Christmas. It was the best 15 minutes of my season. I’m so thankful that I took a minute to sit down. I plan to sit down a lot more over the next week. I hope you will, too. 🙂
Today’s card is super simple and uses washi tape. After making this card, I wished I had made gift tags using this technique – so easy!! But alas, I will be sitting down with my children instead. 🙂 I may create some tags in January for next year. How about a set of handmade gift tags using a variety of holiday washi tape as a gift for someone? I like it! Sorry, just thinking out loud now, haha!
This washi tape is from Simon Says Stamp. You can buy the whole pack or individual rolls.
Wishing you a peaceful holiday.

Beautiful card, Darlene! Love the mix of patterns and colors from that darling washi tape!
Thank you for the reminder to just sit down and enjoy some peace – I do not do it often enough either! ♥

Cute! I have some washi tape but wasn’t sure how to best use it. Love your idea! Merry Christmas and I’m thankful you are enjoying some quality time with your children.

Simple and fun…had some coordinating print paper with SU and used Island Indigo instead of black. Difficult cutting w/ my intricate snowflake dies. Look forward to getting some washi tape…sure it will be easier. Just bought a plastic greeting card container to put my Christmas card creations I hope to make throughout the year…no more waiting til the last minute. Thanks for sharing Darlene, you’re truly an inspiration. I look forward to WEDs…God bless you and your family.

Very cool! I have never purchased washi tape as I didn’t know what to do with it. Now I know! I may just have to get some, now!

Lovely card again, Darlene, truly inspirational. I never worked with Washi tape before but more and more I’m getting pulled in. But what I love the most about this card is the super fabulous dimension of the die cut snow flakes against the dark background underneath, that was genius and amazing.
Next time I go to Hobby Lobby I’m getting some Washi tape, I’ve seen some really cool ones with Holiday designs on them. Thank you for another inspirational card and video, I can’t get enough of this, LOVE IT!!!!!

Wow so easy and effective too. Each time you post a new card I always have a good look at it before checking out the video. I try to work out how you’ve made it. I then watch the video and most times are surprised that its not how I thought. Thank you so much Darlene for making my Thursday mornings a pleasure to wake up to. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful Christmas and lots of 1 minute sit downs.

I just picked up a few rolls of Washi tape today! I will give this card a try. I too love to just sit quietly in front of the tree when everyone has gone to bed and think about what Christmas is all about and remember those who are no longer with us.

Wonderful card….those snowflake dies cut so well and are so pretty. Love the washi tape touches! I agree….this would work so well for gift tags. I still have a few gifts to give…maybe I’ll make up a couple of tags! Thanks for the inspiration!
