Hi Everyone!
Hope you’re having a great week. I used emboss resist with distress inks to get a sunset effect on this card. The windows are colored with a white gel pen, and I curled the paper on the flag to appear as if it is waving, like THIS CARD.
Thank you for all your well wishes on my journey to give up sweets! I have actually done one entire week without – I’ve never gone that long before. The lack of guilt I feel is completely liberating. I didn’t realize how much I fretted over what I ate!
Many of you have asked me about the Michael’s Craft Master competition. They advertised that it would start airing over 2 weeks ago, but it actually just started airing yesterday! You can find the episodes here. I’m not sure which episode I will be in, but I will keep you posted!
Enjoy the video!

Lovely. Your distressed sunset scene is awesome, but the love heart in the window with the flag flying above is perfection! Sweet card.

Lovely card Darlene. Keep up the good work with the sweets “ban” – although, I must say, I do some of my best work when I am on a sugar high!!!

Oops – forgot to mention. I have increased my copic marker inventory about a thousand fold (from 3 to 144) after a healthy order with Dick Blick (through your link, of course!). I’m going to go back through your posts to find even more inspiration. Thanks again!

I just stumbled across your blog this morning and I am so glad I did! I love your style and can hardly wait to finish this comment and pull out my HA Newspaper Skyline stamp and try my hand at your card design. I love the sunset , but most impressive to me is coloring in the windows with white gel pen! Fabulous effect. thanks for the inspiration; I will be back for more!

AHH!! I love this card!! I also have noticed that you dont wipe off the excess in after you emboss and color….or am I missing this?! This was one of my fave cards of yours!!! ….Pam
Darlene DeVries
@Pam: I think I didn’t wipe it because it’s black embossing powder. I usually wipe the white though!
