Wednesday’s Card: Ice Cream Tag

Ice Cream Tag

Ice Cream Tag

Hi All!

I really love personalizing a card for the recipient. I mean, it’s really special to get a handmade card, but when it has your name on it, it’s gotta make you feel even more special.

I used the new ice cream cones die from Simon Says Stamp. The die also dry embosses the wafer part of the cone. I show the sandwich needed for the Sizzix Big Shot in the video. I use the Sizzix Impressions Pad and the matching Sizzix Silicone rubber pad. I use both of these products whenever I use a die to dry emboss (I bought them together years ago). There are probably other accessories you can use for dry embossing, like shims and extra paper, but these are part of my no-brain solution. 🙂

I really like making tags, so when I saw Lawn Fawn’s Tag Your It and Birthday Tags set, I had to get them. There is also a matching holiday set for the tag dies, which I have added to my wishlist.

I realized after the video that I didn’t show the sentiment, which is stamped on the inside and says “Happy Birthday”.

Enjoy and have a great week!

Cute card!!! Thanks for the demo on dry embossing with the big shot. Do you have experience with the magnetic platform? I happened to run across one at Goodwill for 2.99. Wow.

Hi Jan, for $2.99 I would totally get it! I heard that your acrylic plates need to be newish for the platform to work right. For that reason, I haven’t purchased it yet. But I really like the idea of it.

Hi Darlene…me again..LOL…just read the above comment on the magnetic platform and wanted to add to it, hope you don’t mind. I purchased mine as soon as it was available and really don’t know how I lived without it. I know they advise you to use newer plates but so far I have not changed mine. I turn mine so that there is no warp, this helps I think cause you want the plate to lie as flat as possible. Mine are so worn out and I have to order new ones soon but trust me, it works just wonderfully! Hopefully this will encourage you to look into getting one, no more tape to hold anything in place! Like I said I LOVE mine!

I love how the shading on the scoops turned out! Have you considered getting the magnetic platform so you don’t have to use the tape to hold your dies down? I use mine CONSTANTLY!
