Hi All!
I’m back with another photo holiday card design. The measurements are the same as last week’s card: 6″ x 5″. My original intention was 7″ x 5″ so that I could use a standard A7 envelope. The problem is that I really wanted to use the Sizzix Big Shot, which will accept paper that is 6″ wide. Oh well, I’m still using the A7 envelope and it’s fine.
I think this card is perfect for sending to people who don’t necessarily celebrate Christmas. Who doesn’t want “peace”, right? I had fun creating several different color combinations, but the cards are all pretty clean and simple. And they create pretty fast in bulk. I used WOW glitter embossing powders on the stars. Lots of sparkle without the mess of actual glitter. I really love these powders – I used them on several butterfly cards not too long ago.
A couple of handy tools I used for this card: ek tools tweezers and a glitter cloth. I’m not sure I showed the glitter cloth on camera, but it’s fantastic for swiping across your work surface to pickup any of the little leftover flecks.
The camera really doesn’t do the card justice – it’s very sparkly and dimensional in real life. Here is a closeup:
I used Vintage Peacock embossing powder for the card above. And now for some variations…. Shrinking Violet embossing powder with silver:
Black Twinkle embossing powder with silver:
Coral Reef embossing powder with silver:
Black Sparkle embossing powder with gold:
Here is a close-up of that one:
None of these cards use traditional holiday colors, but that’s kind of on purpose. I do think it would look pretty with green and gold, or maybe red and gold.
I am actually really looking forward to working on these cards – they are both fun and easy. It’s my annual Thanksgiving week project!
Enjoy the video and have a great week.
