Hi All!
My first Valentine’s Day card of the year. I love this cute die with all the hearts connected. I covered it in glitter using multipurpose adhesive sheets by Sizzix. I also used the adhesive sheets on THIS CARD. I used silk microfine silver glitter and it was perfect for the thin heart outline. Here is a close-up:
Wow, can you believe the coverage on such a thin area?
For Christmas I received a bunch of Memento Luxe pigment inks. I totally love these inks. In fact, I went on a Scrapbook retreat last weekend and used them A LOT on my scrapbook pages. One of my favorite things about them is that you can emboss with them (as you can with most pigment inks). But aside from that, I am able to color small white pieces, like the heart on this card, with very smooth and even coverage. It’s kind of like having a paint that applies as thin as ink but has a very intense color. Beautiful!
Enjoy and have a great week!

I just love your card! As usual you have hit one out of the park. Your videos are always so wonderful to see they are never too long, you always give excellent instruction. Tku for sharing… please keep them coming!

Hi Darlene,
Adorable!! Adorable!! It came out sooooo cute!! I wanted to let you know about a product for gluing that is superb for these teeny thin dies that are so much fun. It’s the Sakura 38480 Quickie Glue Pen. It’s a teeny pin point of glue that it puts down. I am loving mine – bought it on Amazon. Maybe you’ll like it too!

Love it! I love how you made a window with the die! I would have never believed you had handwritten those 2 letters. In the still shots, they look like stamps! 🙂 TFS!!

What a lovely, delicate Valentine, Darlene!!! Those hearts are just beautiful!! I love that ink, oh my goodness, the way it covered the heart so smoothly and evenly and, of course, you took it above and beyond when you heat embossed it with clear embossing powder, WOW!! simply fabulous. Thank you for this early Valentine’s Day card, it got me in the mood to start making some.

I look forward to Wednesday’s to see what eye candy you have to share and I am never disappointed! This is so adorable! I am glad you showed us the inks because I’m always nervous to buy new ones without seeing how they go on and how the final product looks. I’m in love with these 🙂 Such a perfect little CAS card 🙂 Thank you, Darlene!
Sara T.
PS the dots look like they are from a stamp 😉 I was also wondering if you’d be willing to share how you photograph cards. I haven’t gotten that down yet.
Darlene DeVries
Hi Sara, my photography is covered HERE. Even in the new craft room, I’m doing it the same way.

I immediately went over to SSS and ordered that die – it’s gorgeous and I love what you created with it, Darlene! Such a pretty card!

Very pretty card Darlene. Those hearts are so delicate but really make a stunning impact all glittered up.

Very nice, I love it!

I just switched all of my dies to the magnetic cards. I like them, but I like the thickness of the one you showed. Where did you find yours? I ultimately went with the ones from stamp n storage. The price was reasonable, just not as sturdy as I was hoping, but I had given up finding exactly whay I wanted (for the price). I also notice that everywhere I’ve been looking, the prices have increased a lot recently. Oh yes–the card is very sweet. I certainly don’t mean to forget to mention the gorgeous card! Love how you used the die.
Darlene DeVries
Alisa, I got mine from Stamp n Storage, so we must have the same ones. I think they are really sturdy – I love them.
Alisa
Darlene – Thanks!! That is too funny!! I’ll look closer in next week’s (?) video! I DO very much love flipping through my dies. I spend a lot less time looking/retrieving!

Love Love Love the card…super cute!!!!

Hi Darlene, for the marker line that shown through on the inside, you can use a piece of washi tape to cover it if you want. I did this once and my friend thought it’s a special design for the inside of the card 🙂

Great card! Just when I thought I had all the heart stamps and dies I would ever need. Now I just have to have this one!
Darah
Lo lo lo LOVE the card! Must have that die! So simple but it has such impact!!! I have also just
tecently discovered this new ink, and love the coverage plus its embossing ability.
Aloha!

Edna
A beautiful card, Darlene, so cute! I Love your Wednesday videos, they’re so inspiring.
Sonya van Stee
Fantastic, as always! Love that very fine glitter… will have to try it!
Quick question for you… what is the best gold embossing powder out there? I’ve been using SU but it hasn’t been working properly and getting a really dull look to it, even though I’m careful not to over-heat it!
Darlene DeVries
Hi Sonya, I use the Ranger Superfine Gold powder. I’ve been very happy with it. I used it on a couple of cards for the holidays… if you search it you will see them.

Don’t know if you can or have ever tried Gina K Designs on StampTV products but her 120 lb heavy base weight white card stock will not bleed thru with copics. Her Pure Luxury card stock is divine.
Pat
Super cute–and love this die!!!

Another fantastic card, Darlene! Thanks for sharing. Xx

Michele

Darlene, I am so glad you have offered your new site. I was thrilled with the price too. I have always loved your cards because they are so unique. My absolute favorite card is the three owls on the front that opens up from the top and bottom.
Looking forward to the new year and being able to look at all your cards from the past. Your site is easy to maneuver and find things.
