Wednesday’s Card: Groovy Flowers

Groovy Flowers

Hi All!

The name of this card comes from my husband’s reaction when I showed it to him… “groovy”. It is a little bit groovy now that I think about it.

You know how you want to buy something at Amazon, but it’s not quite $25? So, you spend a bunch of time trying to find the perfect thing you need that will get you to the free shipping at $25? Well, that’s how I got this stamp set. I spent $13 and 2 hours to save $4. Hmm… maybe not a good idea. Still, I really like the stamp set. And I did save $4.

I decided that I wanted to use a white background and color my flowers with vibrant colors. At first, I started using a blender pen and Stampin’ Up! inks. But, it just wasn’t as vibrant as I wanted it, so I moved to Copic markers. Man, it takes me a LONG time to color with Copics!! But, I think it was worth it. All the alternating between colors and blending and alternating and blending. It takes patience. 🙂

I’m sure some of you were expecting me to use my new Stampin’ Up! products on this week’s card. But, I prepare my videos over the weekend and my package didn’t arrive until Tuesday. So, stay tuned until next week…

What a beautiful card! I haven’t purchased any copic markers yet. I know I should buy them in a sets of like colors. Any suggestions on the colors to start with?

I really like these colors too! As I was watching the video, my 15 yr old son was looking over my shoulder marvelling at how fast your hands were moving! When the video ended, he said, “Wow. That really does look like burnt paper. Cool.” Serious high praise coming from that teenage boy!!

what a beautiful card. I need to budget for some Copic markers. I am happy to see that my local Michael’s now carries them so I don’t have to buy them online. I really love the colors you used on the flowers.. 🙂

Great card!!! I really like your design. Every time you post, I find another thing we have in common! LOL!! I’m TOTALLY with you on finding things to get the free shipping on Amazon… or anywhere else for that matter! LOL!! I only shop where I can get free shipping and good deals on top of it. It’s not usually difficult for my husband and I on Amazon because we can usually easily find a book we want to go with whatever else we are buying if it’s not up to the $25.

As always, thanks for the videos that you do!!
