Wednesday’s Card: Everything Flowers

Everything Flowers
Hi All!

Valentine’s Day just sort of crept up didn’t it?! I just purchased this Hero Arts Everything Flowers background stamp, so I thought I would use that for a Valentine’s Day card. To my surprise, I sold pretty much all my heart-related stamps in my big sale over the summer, so I’m having to be creative with non-heart stamps!

I also just ordered the Hero Arts Soft Granite Shadow Ink, which I used for the background on this card. I love this ink. Originally I tried to use the Stampin’ Up! Basic Gray, but it was too dark. I even tried stamping-off with it (stamping on a sheet of scratch paper before stamping the image) but it was still too dark. This Soft Granite ink is just the perfect light gray background – not distracting at all. I’m using it on another card coming up in the next few weeks.

I used Copic Markers for the flowers and then added a little highlight with the Faber Castell Design Memory Craft White Big Brush Pen. I’ve used this pen before in the same way on THIS CARD.

Love this card! I also like your non-conventional use of flowers rather than hearts to convey the Valentine’s Day message. Nothing wrong with that! Keep the videos coming. You’ve taught me so much and provided me with amazing card-making inspiration.

Love how you took those flowers from the background and popped them up after coloring with those gorgeous copics! It just is so complete, with just a little coloring and cutting. I am thinking of all the background stamps that I have that I might be able to do in this fashion. You just helped double the use, and made the “cost” of my stamps worth every penny!! Sure is great to be able to get more “bang” for my “buck”. Thanks for sharing that bit of info. I really love the finished card, it is just stunning. OMGosh, just by coloring three flowers and popping them up? Wow, what a great idea. Here goes another entry in my “Idea Book”….LOL I am on to the next video…and having a blast! You are so talented!
