Wednesday’s Card: Emboss Resist Hearts

Emboss Resist Hearts

Emboss Resist Hearts

Hi All,

I love this stamp set for hearts – there are so many! I used white embossing powder on white paper and then applied the ink (Stampin’ Up! using foam applicators). I also broke out the needle and thread, which I don’t do very often. The first version of this card I did without the outside white border. I hate to put too many layers on the card, but I felt like it needed just one more frame of white. I also used Tim Holtz’s Perfect Pearls mixed with water in a mister to give it a shimmery look. I took a close-up picture so you could see it.

If you are on my email distribution list (email me if you are not and want to be), you already know that June is the month Stampin’ Up! retires a bunch of products to make room for the release of the 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog. I haven’t seen the catalog yet, but I’m supposed to receive it tomorrow – I can’t wait!!! Anyway, I was really disappointed to see some of my favorite ones on the retiring list. 🙁 If you are interested in seeing the lists, here they are:

My favorite sets that are retiring? Fun & Fast Notes, Pick-A-Petal, Party Hearty, Priceless, and Simply Said (my very first Stampin’ Up! set!). I was kind of surprised that the Photo Corner Punch is retiring… it’s very handy for scrapbooking.

Have a great week!

I love this card. So easy; yet so cute. The threading made the card. You do an awesome job in the diverse cards you have made. Keep them coming.

I look forward every week to see what you come up with next.

    Thank you for sharing

I have seen this technique done before but its funny how one forgets about things that you have seen. Thanks for refreshing my mind. Loved the card and the colours you have used. I have said it before that I love the way you do your videos. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to seeing more. Thanks Darlene.

I only recently discovered your videos and have really enjoyed them. Thank you very much. I would love to know where you get the foam applicators you used for this card. They look so easy to use. Thanks.

Okay, now I really really like hearts, also. (butterflies remain #1 for me, however) LOL I love the embossed random hearts and ink color combination. Personally, I haven’t used my regular inks, mostly just the Distress Inks. I am newer at card-making then most. But, the whole effect just results in such a lovely card!!! BTW: I like the voice-over videos the best! Not only do I watch your moves, but when you talk, you give so many little tips. (I know, you put up the little text, but I just like hearing stuff, I guess.) LOL What can I say, that is what I am “used” to?! Another fine card! Well done!
