Hope you all had a wonderful holiday. Mine was so awesome that it made me think about how I can simplify my life. I spent the entire Christmas Day just hanging out with my family and not worrying about cleaning up, cooking, bills, Zumba, or even card-making!! It was so nice to have a mental vacation. It made me realize how crazy my life is for someone who doesn’t work! Well, I teach Zumba, but that’s more for fun, as it’s not really enough to make any sort of dent in the financial picture. It may be more of a mental change, but one thing I plan to do is cut back on one Zumba class. We’ll see after that.
Anyway, let me tell you about my Christmas SCRAP-BOOTY!!! Aside from one or two things, everything I asked for was papercraft related! I got a bunch of new distress ink colors, applicators (and a storage rack!), liquid pearls, enamel accents, stamps, and a dozen little jars of flock in different colors! My head was spinning with ideas, so I had to get to work the very next day. The first card here is actually really simple. The only new product I used was Liquid Pearls in silver. When you apply it, it looks like a brad. You’ll notice that I flick the bottom of the card with my fingers to spread out the application a little.
Enjoy the video and come back next week for some cool techniques with my new booty!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
UPDATE: I was looking through my PaperCrafts Cards magazine again and noticed a card very similar to the one I created here. I know I got my inspiration from this card because I read the magazine recently. Do you ever get an idea based on something you completely forgot you saw, but you really didn’t forget? 🙂 Anyway, I must give credit where credit is due – I would hate to find someone using my designs and claiming as their own. It is on page 55 of PaperCrafts Card Creations, Volume 2, and it was made by Ashley Newell. I couldn’t find a photo of the card online, so I thought I should at least link to her blog here!
