Hi All!
I just got this cute little cupcake set by Avery Elle. I was really impressed with the quality of the stamp set. Notice the chocolate cake part of the cupcake? It’s solid black using Memento Ink. When I’ve used this ink on rubber stamps by both SU and Hero Arts, I don’t get this good of an impression.
The cupcake liner was actually completely blank and I created my own creases and shading with Copics. I think it looks better than a stamp with the lines drawn in – you can make them the same color as the liner itself!
I also just got this new herringbone background stamp by Impression Obsession. I love the detail of it. And don’t you love the inside stamp? So cute. SO reusable, right?
On the Stampin’ Up! front, I just got my new goodies!! Several people have asked me what I ordered… I got Label Love and matching punch, Mosaic Madness and matching punch, Gorgeous Grunge, Stippled Blossoms, and Perfect Blend. I also got the Mosaic embossing folder. I can’t wait to get started!!
Also… I promised some photos of my still camera and video camera setup and haven’t delivered yet. The good news is that I’m hoping to post it by Friday, so stay tuned! Enjoy the video and have a great week!

I love how you added in the crease lines! Very cute card and great video, as always. I am so happy to have found your blog. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
If you have a minute, please check out my latest blog post. You have inspired me to retry watercolor pencils. It is also my first attempt at a video. Not nearly as nice as yours but I am happy with it (after learning so basics in iMovie – whew!) Thank you so much for the inspiration!

Love the stamps you used Darlene – again, watching you color with copics is great. Your cards are always amazing and I love learning new things when watching how you make your cards. That black square border looks so good, must use that soon.

I love how you make your cards!!! Especially using copic markers; I have started using these pens and absolutely love them. I especially enjoy how you tell us which numbers (copic markers) are being used to color the images. Thank you so much for demostrating this cute bday card, can’t wait for next week.

Love this one. Beautiful job.

Love your cupcake! So cute!! That herringbone stamp is awesome. It would be great to use with any type of clothing art i.e. pair of slacks or a tweed jacket. I am crazy about the “She Art” work from Christy Tomlinson and the Doll Stamps from Julie Nutting, so it would be great to use for this type of art. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent 🙂

Hi Darlene!
I too love my cupcakes! I really love how you color with Copics…it’s always so beautiful! I have one Copic original marker and didn’t care for the tips of the marker too so I changed the tip. Copic has a brush tip nip replacement. It has a metal adapter already placed around the brush tip so that it’ll fit into the original marker perfectly! So now it feels like I’m coloring with a sketch marker…so cool. Anyhow….thank you for sharing your BEAUTIFUL card! Have a wonderful day! 🙂

Good idea Suzanne! I think I will do that!

Exploring your blog and enjoying all your creative ideas and cards! This set is so cute. I’m wondering what # (lb., /pound) weight of cardstock you use to use your copics with? thx so much.
Darlene DeVries
Hi Jan, I believe it’s 80lb.
