Happy Thanksgiving Eve!
Yes, you read that right. I created this background with just two of my favorite colored pencils: Derwent Intense. It was fun, and it was easy. Doesn’t this card look so celestial? It makes me think of the real reason for the season. 🙂
I love these pencils. I have lots of cards on this blog where I used the pencils, such as this one, this one, and this one. They can be used both wet and dry.
These watercolor pencils are full of vibrant color. More water will give you a subtle look, less water will give you a bold look. And you can layer the color, making it interesting and full of depth (as I did with this card). I splattered white ink spray with a brush to make the snowflake dots and covered it with a spray of shimmer using my mix of Perfect Pearls and water.
The die cut snowflakes are a set by Simon Says Stamp called Fun Flakes. There are four in the set and they are really intricate and pretty.
The funny thing I noticed about last week’s Videopalooza comments was that everyone really liked when I made a mistake! Haha, I guess everyone can relate to that. This video is no exception. 🙂 I kind of messed up the snowflakes – you’ll see in the video.
By the way, I knew it would happen… Scrapbook.com is having the Sizzix Big Shot for 50% off, PLUS you get a free die. Can’t beat that!!
Enjoy the video and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Love the water color effect, the way you blended this pretty colors is fantastic. Like in other posts, I like the fact that you show ways to get out of either mishaps or you find other ways to do the technique you are sharing with us. I love the way this “sky” looks, specially when you splattered the white “snow” on it. Those Snow Flakes are so pretty and detailed, they do look really beautiful with the Dazzling Details, sometimes glitter is hard to adhere to the images. Love this card, thank you so much for sharing it with us.
Once again, my dear, I want to wish you and your family a Wonderful Thanksgiving Day!
