Happy Wednesday!
Thank you to everyone who left a comment about my daughter’s frog pottery last week. She stood next to my computer as I read every comment and email to her. She was literally jumping up and down with excitement with every one. It was so cute!!
For the butterfly on this card, I used Stampin’ Up! markers with a blender pen. I just got these Spellbinders circles. Believe it or not, my sister had a garage sale and her neighbor was selling them for $5, in an unopened package!! Ring me up!
Enjoy the video and have a great week!

Great card Darlene. I really like the colors you chose this week. I really like that hero arts has the stamp and die sets now. Can’t wait to see what you do next.

Great card and wonderful coloring. Unbelievable but I happen to have all these supplies so I will definitely try this technique. Tks for sharing!

Hello again, Darlene: Every week, I wait anxiously for your Wednesday video, I can’t say enough about your artistic talent, your patience and your attention to detail. You are the best ambassador for SU products EVER!!!!!
It’s unbelievable that they asked you to quit being a demonstrator. I’m pretty sure people who watch your videos go ahead and buy the SU products you use to make your cards, I’m one of them, my dear. I just bought the “Loads of Love” and the “Loads of Love” accesories. I’m so happy I will get them before they are gone.
I also got the Butterfly Prints and punch because they are also going to be discontinued.
Anyway, thank you so much for all you have taught me, ( I hope I spelled this word correctly) I have to give the resist technique a try.
Take care.
Maria.

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! That is all I can say:)

Love the colours you have used with this and the dual background effect is very appealing. TFS!
Rosanne
Darlene love the card and the colours. You are so lucky spellbinders for 5 $ amazing ! So lucky you are!
I was laughing at you measuring to make the punch……we lazy folk would just punch…..I like it it reminds me to be more careful and pay attention to the details!
Darlene DeVries
Rosanne – oh my goodness, it would never even occur to me to just punch! How funny – I guess that makes sense, really, what’s the big deal with all my meticulous measurements. It does seem a little over the top when you think about it, lol! 🙂
Maureen Jones
I love the combination of the bright blue with the brown and red. The contrast is so appealing.

Really….Spellbinders dies for $5. Shock and awe. Love your card. I have verrry bad luck with ink and blending pens. Any advice?

Darlene, I love getting your email alerts in my inbox every Weds so I can just watch in amazement at your newest creation! I’ve been a little tied up with my newborn and week after week I have every intention of commenting, but then time gets away from me. So I just wanted you to know–you are one talented stamper and we all enjoy your weekly creations! I always watch them with my 3 yr old daughter because she loves to watch Copic blendingand inking the stamps up and so now she always asks “is today the day we can watch Darlene stamping shows?”

Thanks for the video and card! I just recently found your site and find I am waiting for Wednesdays to come around!

Lovely! That butterfly is one of my favorites. I wish I could apply the ink with the Ranger tool as you do. Mine always gets “boxy” looking and not smooth like yours. Guess I need to practice. You always inspire. Hope to see some more of your daughter’s art work on your site.
Thank you for the Wednesday fun time!

Beautiful card, love that resist technique. I agree with Conil, my luck with markers, watercolor paper and blenders have not gone very well either. My colors seem to get real muddy, could use some suggestions, or is it that my blender pens are very old?
Darlene DeVries
Carol B & Coni – regarding the blender pen issue, it’s hard to say without seeing your results (if you want to email me a photo, maybe I could provide some more constructive feedback). So, maybe I would suggest less blending. Too much blending will even out your color and make it look like you just have one solid color. Only apply your marker ink to the darkest shadow area and then feather it out with the blender. I also clean off my blend pen periodically so that it doesn’t have too much ink on it. Hope this helps a little!

I, too, await Wednesday’s video! Even if I don’t fancy the card I always learn something technique-wise, colour choices, etc. I especially appreciate that you use and reuse your favourite stamps. By doing so, you give new life to something you already have and encourage us to do so, as well.
I love the card and shall get myself to my craft room and try my own version. It is such a multi-functional design.
Thank you, Darlene, for sharing your creativity!

G’day Darlene – love the card this week, it really packs a punch with colour and design layout….whilst watching it I started to think of the possibility of making a similar card with the stamp sets I have so thank you for the inspiration! Cardmaking opportunities are so limited for me that having an idea ready to go in my head saves a lot of time. Thanks again and keep your wonderful videos coming!

Great card Darlene ~ and what a garage sale deal! It snowed in central WI last night . . . so we’ve got a bit of a wait for yard sales to begin up here ~~~ guess I’ll just have to be content to look for deals on ebay for now 😀

Darlene, you never fail to impress me. You make card making look so easy! I like the cards I make and am always happy with the results, but I agonise over each and every step along the way. Thanks for the weekly inspiration.
Darlene DeVries
@Embossing Queen: You are not alone…all the agonizing is edited out.

This is my first time commenting here. I had somehow pinned some of your cards because they are all so fabulous. Today I decided to check out your blog after a long time. Each and every one of your cards is just gorgeous, fantastic and superb! Your videos are just the best. The time you take to make these each week is just so appreciated. I am newbie at all this and I have much to learn from you. I just love your cards style, they are so my style although I can’t produce them like yours out of my head 🙂 Please keep inspiring us. Thanks again for all that you do.
