Wednesday’s Card: Black Sparkle Flowers with Distress Inks

Black Sparkle Flowers

Black Sparkle Flowers

Hi All!

Hope you’re having a great week! I really struggled with the background of this card – I tried pretty much every distress ink color I own and finally decided on this one. You know, sometimes I can whip out a card pretty quickly, but other times it takes days and constant thought. Ridiculous? Yes, totally. But that’s how I roll unfortunately.

Notice that I applied the blue distress ink AFTER I heat embossed it with the black sparkly powder (which is very cool by the way). I left some chunks of the paper white around the flowers. I’m trying to articulate why, but I can’t! I just thought it would look softer? Anyway, hope you like it.

Enjoy the video and have a great week!

SONG: “Bittersweet Symphony” by The Verve. One of my favorite songs ever.

I love your site and your cards! What tool/stamp are you using to apply the distress ink on your projects?

You can combine the Stampin Up! fine black embossing powder with the irridescent ice or dazzling diamonds to get the same effect. I made my son and daughter-in-law’s wedding invites that way.

This is a great video! Often, the speeded-up ones can be annoying to me, but you did this one well. Beautiful results, too.

Love that sparkly goodness! I haven’t used my Perfect Pearls in awhile. Hmm…this has inspired me to get those out, and play! I like that you added that bit of texture with the background stamp onto your card base! It’s all those little extra touches that just speaks to your wonderful designs and talent. TFS!!!
