Wednesday’s Card: Be the Star You Are

Be the Star

Be the Star

Be the Star

Hi All!

Today I am using some more products I got from Stampin’ Up!’s new catalog… the Be the Star stamp set and matching dies.

I made the front flap of the card a little shorter and put the black strip on the back flap. That way, the star could hang off the edge of the card.

The star is colored with a Violet Inktense pencil. I slowed this part down to real-time in the video so you could see how I colored it. I used the Wink of Stella clear glitter marker after I was finished with my watercoloring. It’s not really a glittery look – it’s much more of a shimmer. It goes on like paint, but the spread of shimmer is very even – not clumpy like glitter can be. I actually purchased a few of the colored Wink of Stella pens, but I haven’t used them in a video because I wasn’t very happy with the results. Maybe I just made some poor color choices, but I really do love the clear pen. I think it’s an all-purpose pen that you can use over and over on lots of different cards.

Enjoy the video and have a great week!

Very nice card, Darlene. I’ve had the same experience with the Wink of Stella pens. I love the effect I get with the clear one, but I’ve not had much success with the colors. I thought it was just me!

Wonderful card….what a great and versatile stamp and die set! Love what you did with it.
I agree with you about the Wink of Stella pens….I have lots of colors but wish I’d only bought the clear which is about the only one I ever use! I do see there are the new Wink of Luna pens which are metallic and I’m tempted… LOL!

Love it when you water color Darlene, love when you make your ”frames” for your cards, they always look fabulous and I love watching your videos. The big star is the STAR of this card, looks really pretty with the Wink of Stella, I just fell in love with this pen/brush/marker or what ever it’s called, it’s not glitter, it’s just so soft and beautiful. I love the pink and violet.
Thank you for another fabulous video.
