Hi All!
So sorry! This post was supposed to go live yesterday but I messed up on the date! Happy Saturday!
Today I’m using the Stampin’ Up! Watts of Occasions set. I bought this set even though I don’t need it (clearly I need everything else). I think it is a really practical set that can be used multiple times over the year. And, it’s unique.
I tried to make my focal point stand out by making the background simple. The cards I like the most are the ones that have a single area of focus, which is why I try to make my background either really subtle (when it’s not the focal point) or really bold (when it is the focal point).
I colored the tree very simply with distress markers and added some metallic to the bulb base, the star, and the rays. Here is a close-up:
Enjoy the video!

Whew! I was worried yesterday when you didn’t post! So glad everything’s OK!

To be honest, Darlene, I would probably not have noticed this was late if you hadn’t said so! 🙄 One of those crazy days, for sure. But hey, you’re right on time for World Cardmaking Day! 😎 I love the simplicity of the card. Seems like it would be easy to mass produce, at least on a small-ish scale. Great overall design. I was wondering where you got that ginormous block you use for background stamps? My largest block (an old one from Hobby Lobby) is still a bit too small for that. I usually either have to use my MISTI, or lay the stamp face-up on my cutting mat. I like the block idea, though, because you can flip the panel off. Anyway…. Thanks for posting this–great inspiration! Happy World Cardmaking Day! 🙂 ~ Andrea

Hi Andrea. My blocks are all Stampin’ Up!. You can buy a set or just the large one: http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=118483&dbwsdemoid=2158696. I know they are expensive, but I love them.

Am very glad it was just a mechanical glitch and you’re all right! Today’s Christmas card is so unique. I love it!

I for one didn’t even notice the post was later than usual. ( you could’ve gotten away with it I reckon).
Lovely card which is simple but also very effective and looks amazing with the window that draws the eye in. The black is striking and very clean over all. Thank you for your inspiration
