Hi All!
I can’t believe tomorrow is Thanksgiving! I hope all of you have a wonderful, joyous day with family and friends.
I’m back into snow and holiday action with today’s card. When I first conceptualize a style or technique, sometimes it goes horribly wrong. I show my first version of this watercolor panel in the video. The lesson? Don’t give up if you make something you think is hideous. Just think about what you don’t like about it and change those things. It’s much easier than starting from scratch!
Enjoy the video and Happy Thanksgiving! 🙂

Beautiful Card Darlene. I have the Gansai Tambe watercolors and haven’t invested in the Peerless yet but might just ask Santa for them..
Have a great Thanksgiving and as always, thanks for sharing.

I love this card…beautiful! Thank you for the information about using 90#lb watercolour paper. I didn’t even give that a thought and was wondering how to “unwarp” my cardstock!!

I didn’t know that Carol! I wish we had more time between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Hope your Thanksgiving was a great one. 🙂

Fun card…. I need to be more adventurous with watercolors. Appreciated the information about the different weights of cardstock and watercolor paper.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

Love this card Darlene. Will have a go at making one of these (maybe more). To all of our American stampers. HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Glenis (Australia)

Thank you for showing the original test run piece! It’s nice to know it’s not just me that has an idea that somehow just doesn’t quite turn out the way I wanted.
The simplicity of colours on the final version was fantastic! Thanks for sharing with us 🙂

I really like the simplicity of this card. The result is simple and elegant .

Love this card. It looks so Wintery. With our 90 degree weather today in my part of Australia, it cools me down just to look at it. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Down Under doesn’t have a Turkey Day – boo! hoo!

Connie, I keep forgetting you guys don’t have snow this time of year. We’ve actually been tossing around the idea of going to Australia next Christmas – I’ll be asking you for advice if we do! Right now I’m trying to figure out if I could sit on a plane that long.
Connie
Hi Darlene! I’ll be happy to give you any help I can. One tip I can give you now is to be sure to book a non-stop flight from Dallas to Honolulu to stay in Hawaii a few days before proceeding on to Australia. I always do that both ways. And I don’t stay in Honolulu but take a short flight to Kauai which I think is a more relaxing island. In fact it takes about as long to fly to Kauai as it does to take a taxi into Honolulu. And be sure to make time to stop off in New Zealand too as it is a beautiful place just a few hours from Australia by air. Guess that’s enough for now – ha! ha!

Great advice Connie! I think a stop in Hawaii might make it more manageable. I’ve never been to Kauai.

Very pretty, Darlene! Thank you!

Very pretty Darlene! I also appreciate the sharing of your first card. It’s a good reminder that even the most experienced, talented, sometimes need a second attempt! Thanks for doing that! 🙂

Beautiful card. I like how the black pops on the card. Thanks for sharing both cards. As they say, less is more and so true with this one.

Really love this card Darlene, it’s simple (sort of) but has such a soft look. Love the water color stripes and I would never have thought of putting them right through the tree. Merry Christmas Darlene and a blessed New Year

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too, Lizzie! 🙂
