Welcome to card #2 in my Quick and Easy series. I love this card because it has a lot of stamping. Stamping is what got me into this crazy card hobby. A card like this takes me back to my roots. 🙂
I used the Stampin’ Up! Botanical Blooms set, which I’ve also used on THIS CARD and THIS CARD.
The most important element of this type of card is color selection. I try to stay in the same tone. For example, my main colors are all subtle. In fact, after I typed that I went to my Stampin’ Up! catalog to verify, and yes, these colors are all from the Subtle color collection! If you want a bolder look, pick all your colors from the Brights collection. If you don’t have Stampin’ Up! inks, you can still use their color collection list to match up to colors you have at home.
To make this card even simpler, I stamped directly on the card base. I always use Stampin’ Up! inks on Stampin’ Up! paper because the results are remarkably better than using other paper. In the last couple of years, Stampin’ Up! released a thicker Whisper White (I never use the original as a card base because it’s too thin). So, that’s what I used on this card.
If you wanted to jazz up the card a little, you can matte it with black or another color, you could glitter over the flowers, or you could put some glossy accents on them.
I hope you’re enjoying this series!

That’s another good one, Darlene. I need some of these quick and simple card ideas. This is a great series!

Darlene, I love this card series, I think we get so involved with making a well balanced card, that things aren’t simple anymore. And this series does bring us back to our roots!! THANKS
Janetlarn
Even I can make this one!

Fabulous, Darlene, it comes together so beautifully and is so simple and pretty!

Simple and pretty card for a busy day or a last minute request, which I get very often from my daughters.
I’m intrigued by the thick SU card stock, I’ve see it used several times and everybody says it’s really awesome.
I was wondering if you can say what, besides the thickness, makes this card stock better than the regular card stock.
Thank you for sharing another fantastic video, Darlene.
Hugs.

Hi Maria. As far as the thick SU cardstock goes, if you’re asking how else it compares to the Whisper White regular, I would say, in my experience, it’s exactly the same except for the thickness. Since I buy Neenah in bulk pretty cheaply, I don’t plan to move exclusively to the SU thick cardstock, but I definitely will use it whenever I’m stamping SU inks onto a card base. Hope that helps!

Love this simple and easy card too! Funny cuz the colors look a lot brighter in your photo than it does in the video. ?

Interesting comment Carol! Believe it or not, I’ve been thinking that my video camera’s lighting isn’t what it used to be. And, it seems like the videos are darker in my new craft room, which has TONS of light. I think the camera isn’t adjusting for the massive amount of light very well, You would think the video would be better but it’s not. I just put the actual card next to the photo on my laptop, and it looks identical. The camera is 4 years old, so I added “buy new video camera” to my list the other day.

I am enjoying this series, Darlene. The only complaint I have is that the videos are so short! 🙂 I love your videos–they help calm me down if I’m not feeling well and generally lift my spirits. I know that the short videos just go along with the Quick & Easy card concept. I just wish they could be longer. Of course, I can always watch your other videos in the gallery! Love your card today. Great color combination, and I like the CAS design. Thanks for sharing this! ~ Andrea

Hi Andrea. I’m so glad to hear that I can lift your spirits. 🙂 Next week’s quick and easy video is actually longer because I went through creating the card with different mediums. But I suppose if you want something LOOOONG, you can watch the craft room tour again. 🙂

Beautiful simple card Darlene, I love the colors you used. Hugs, Brenda

I love this series! Quick and easy cards are my favorite type to make. Sometimes cards can so detailed and then I get frustrated when they take too long to put together, so having some simple ones that are impactful is wonderful! Thanks Darlene!
Cheryl
Great card! I’ve been thinking of getting some of the thick cardstock for one layer cards. And I’m excited to try some of the new colors too!
