The times when I have the most difficulty coming up with a card idea is when I decide I’m going to do something simple. This usually happens when I’m pressed for time and I don’t have something on hand that meets the need. So what happens? My mind blanks. I can’t think of a single basic thing to do.
And thus… this series! Cards that are quick and easy. Minimal ingredients and low effort. Honestly, this is really hard for me. I’ll probably spend at least as much time as I would on any other card (maybe more!) because the idea of something simple is the hard part. I always want to add more detail or make it a little more sophisticated. I’m outside my comfort zone, haha! However, I think having these ideas at your disposal will be quite useful.
Each Friday during the month of June I will be back with a new quick and easy card. Wish me luck. 🙂
For today’s card, you need an embossing folder, some markers (I used Copic, but any marker will do), and a sentiment:
Less is more. This card is actually much more interesting in person. I tried to take the photo from the side so you can see how elegant the raised areas look. Here is a close-up:
I give a few tips about using other embossing folders in the video. Enjoy!

Love the series. Have this folder so plan to CASE your card. Think I might use glossy accents on the coloured areas too.

Hi Diana. You are so sweet. Actually, sometimes God gives me a card idea in the middle of the night. I make sure I stay awake long enough to practice it and burn it into my mind before I go back to sleep so that I remember it in the morning! Before we moved I had a notebook by my bed. 🙂
Diana
Your posts are such a treat. Sweet dreams to you!!

Love the way you “threw” this card together, Darlene! My brother once asked me if I could “whip up” a card he wanted to give to someone. I replied, I could MAKE a card! I’m not sure he got my point. LOL I really like the colors you used here. I’ll have to take a closer look at my embossing folder collection now! 🙂 ~ Andrea
