Video Series: One Stamp, Four Ways – Card #4

One Stamp Four Ways

CLICK HERE to list all videos in this series.

This card will complete my series with the Penny Black Burst of Blooms stamp. That went by quickly! I’m jumping the gun on October’s Metallics challenge, which doesn’t start until Monday. I used my Finetec Pearl watercolors on black cardstock – they give such an elegant, shimmery look.

One Stamp Four Ways

The photo really doesn’t do the card justice. It’s full of shimmer. Here is a close-up:

I hope you enjoyed this series! Honestly, it’s one of the easiest series I have done – I picked a good, versatile stamp. 🙂

Have a great weekend!

Darlene, this is definitely my favourite card in the series. It is just so beautiful. And I especially love the colours you chose for the Finetec Pearl Watercolours. I’ve got so many friends with birthdays this month and so I definitely will do this card tomorrow for one of the special ones. Thanks so much for a wonderful series.

Just beautiful! I have those watercolors and have tried them on black card stock without much luck. The colors were too transparent and streaky. Maybe I used to much water? I thought maybe I needed black watercolor paper but I noticed you used card stock. So, I think I’ll try it again.

Hi Cheryl. It does sound like too much water. You kind of need a lot of water to get the palette going, but let it sit a bit before you start applying to your cardstock. The water will absorb and thicken up the color.

Love the hints of shimmer in the video, & I’m sure it’s even more impressive in real life! I don’t have those particular paints, but I do have the Gansai Tambi pearlescent paints, so I may have to try this. Thanks for the inspiration, and have a wonderful weekend! 🙂 ~ Andrea

Wow! Darlene, this is my favourite series also (so far!!!). I just love every one of these cards. I don’t have this stamp set but I am sure I have a stamp that I can use amongst my “mountain” of stamp sets. Thank you so much for all the work you put into “LiveLoveCards”.

    Colorful Card Maker

I love how you did all 4 cards with one stamp. I have some stamps like that. I’ve used them with glitter, with water colors, with markers, with colored pencils, etc. but they are all the same stamp. It’s so cool when you can use a stamp for more then one thing, that way you really get your monies worth with it. Considering how much stamps cost, I want to make sure I get my monies worth with them. If I only use it once I didn’t get my monies worth. I really like this stamp a lot. Thanks for showing us all 4 versions.
