Hi All!
Welcome back for the final card in my series! When I first saw this die, I immediately thought of making a shaker card with it. Today’s the day!
It was one of the easiest shakers I’ve made. Because the die has a cut outline, it’s very simple to hide the foam backing. Here is a close-up of shaker squares:
I used 3mm craft foam that I bought at JoAnn’s. I was looking online for a link and I found this adhesive foam. It’s 1/8″, which is 3.2mm. Wow, I want that. It’s on my wish list.
Unfortunately, some bad news. The die is out of stock again, and Simon Says Stamp doesn’t know when more will be in. So, they told me they will issue another discount code when the die is back in stock so everyone has one last opportunity to purchase. I will keep you posted.
Regarding the seed beads, Simon Says Stamp no longer sells the variety pack – what a shame! I was able to find the same beads at Amazon. You want to use very small beads – they are also called micro beads if you want to shop around for your favorite colors. I think the space would be too crowded with regular-sized sequins.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this series! Don’t forget the site is going down for maintenance tomorrow so that I can roll out all the new features. I’m so excited. And I’m scared it won’t work, so wish me luck!! 🙂

Well, Darlene, this is a definite must-do card. I am not a big fan of shaker cards but this one is very special. I’m so glad I got this die too. It has surprised me how you managed to get 4 different cards made using it. The only challenge I’m going to have is finding these seed beads as Amazon doesn’t ship them to Australia. Some time ago I wanted seed beads and I had trouble finding them locally in a variety of colours at a reasonable price. But once I do locate them, I’ll be making the shaker card. Good luck with your new super duper website. I can hardly wait to see it!!!

Holy Smokes!! This is an amazing card. You never cease to amaze me with all of the wonderful creative ideas you come up with! Thanks! 🙂

Oh my gosh!! I didn’t think you could top the other 3 cards but this shaker card definitely is my favorite. I love shakers and you made a gorgeous one, looks like this die was made for a shaker.
Thank you so much for this video, you make it look so easy.
Hugs,
Maria Rodriguez.

Love shaker cards, and this one is amazing! I was wondering, when you call the seed beads micro beads, if these are “regular” seed beads? I’ve seen some called micro beads that are just ultra-tiny. I’m not sure if they even have holes. Since I couldn’t really see a clear size reference for the die cut openings, it was hard to tell just how big the beads are. Just curious. You did a wonderful job coming up with so many ideas for this one die! I wish you very good luck with the website updates tomorrow, too. St. Isidore is the patron saint of the internet, at least unofficially. (And yes, I had to google that!) I’ll see if I can get him to guide you, just in case! 🙂 ~ Andrea

Hi Andrea, micro beads would work too…the ones I have do not have holes in them. They are smaller than what Darlene used (seed beads). ?
Darlene DeVries
Hi Andrea. I would say the beads are maybe 1mm? They are pretty small. Mine have holes, but there’s no reason why you couldn’t use some that don’t, although I think round beads this small would go everywhere on a table!

I love, love shaker cards..now this one is so outstanding…I am so happy that I had ordered the die early. Now I need to order the seed beads.
Thanks so much Darlene, I sure enjoyed all four tutorials.

Well Darlene, you have done an amazing job with all four cards and wouldn’t you know it, number 4 is just WOW!!! I love it. Thank you for all four videos.

I forgot to say all the best with your “BIG DAY” tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing the changes.

Wow! I love shaker cards and this is perfect!!! It looks impressive to someone who doesn’t make cards too! I think I would have glued the black outline to the acetate after gluing down the white top card first, but your idea was better taping it to the back of the white piece to hold it and then glued it down to the acetate! Another beautiful card! ?
SHELLY
AWSOME CARD!

All four of these cards are just gorgeous, but I think I like this last one the very, very best. Beautifully done, Darlene! Thanks.

Update for anyone Down Under who wants to try Darlene’s gorgeous card. Martha Stewart Microbeads in a rainbow of containers can be purchased at Craft Online in Australia.

Thank you for that update Connie!

I think you’re a genius! I commented before that I didn’t see how you could make different cards with the same die, but I bought it after the first one, and I am so excited to make this one! Thank you for sharing (and the idea to use this as a shaker card–that IS genius!!)
dvcote
Fantastic! I love this!
Cheryl
Wow! Great card! You are so creative!
Laura Norris
This is so pretty! I agree that this die was almost made to be a shaker! Pretty pink posh sells seed beads too, and Ellen Hutson carries them. Thanks for 4 great cards with this die! I wasn’t too sure about this die before this series, but after seeing what you have come up with I think it needs to come live at my house!

I love how this last card turned out Darlene! This is does indeed make for a great shaker card. Hugs, Brenda

I am a lover of shaker cards and have not made one yet. This one is so amazing and I don’t know why but I see something religious in it. It’s just so beautiful! I am saving this video so I can watch it and maybe make one. Thanks for showing it to us!

If anyone is interested in this Blue Moon seed bead pack Darlene used, I found it at my local Joann’s for $9.99. I was not able to find it online at Joann’s to share a link. Use a coupon and save even more!
