Valentine’s Love

Valentine's Heart

Hi All,

I’m back! Thank you so much for all of your kind words and well wishes while I was in bed with the flu. I know many of you have recently had the flu – it’s not fun! So far 3 out of the 4 of us have had it – Courtney has so far escaped, and I hope it stays that way! The good news is that on my last day I felt well enough to place about 4 crafty orders, lol. That’s what happens when you have too much time on your hands. 🙂

I used a stencil, some water, and my Oxide inks to make this last-minute Valentine’s card. It was very easy to do, and fast! I used a simple stencil design so that I wouldn’t distract from my focal point, the heart. Here is a close-up:

Valentine's Heart

I hope you have a very Happy Valentine’s Day. Stay well!

It was great to see your card tonight come up on the screen and to read you are over the flu. That Tamiflu must have been a big help! I hope Courtney’s immune system continues to keep her well. It’s great that she’s avoided getting sick so far. The way you achieved the card’s background with Oxide ink and the stencil was pretty cool. I must give this a try. You make it look so easy but I wonder how I’ll manage. Please do take it easy so you don’t get a relapse. It’s all been said before but I’ll say it again… we won’t be going anywhere and just want you well. Just remember that!

Thank you, Connie. I actually had to get back on the couch Tuesday for a bit, but I’m feeling better again. This technique is actually quite easy Connie – I know you can do it. 🙂

Love this sweet Valentine, I need to get me some of those Oxide inks, love how smooth they go on the paper.
Big hugs, Darlene!! and Happy Valentine’s Day to you and your family.

Yay for good health!!! 😺 I’m so glad you’re feeling better, Darlene! Hopefully Courtney will be able to keep avoiding getting sick. I really like this card–that background technique with the inks & stencil is amazing! It doesn’t even have to be for Valentine’s Day. This card could be just for general love any time of year. Hope you continue to do well. Like Connie said–take it easy! Happy Valentine’s Day! 😺 ~ Andrea

Happy Valentine’s Day Darlene! I saw someone else do this technique and I did it on water color paper and I think it looks better on Neena so I will try that next time. Glad you are feeling better! 😎

    So creative Darlene…thanks for sharing.
Just wish the Oxide inks would go on sale. Do you buy a few at a time or a whole lot of them?
Happy Valentine’s day to you and yours.
So nice to see you well again.

Hi Dee. When they first came out, I bought 9 or 10. As the next ones release, I just buy a few of my favorites. In my most recent order I got just Salty Ocean. I think it’s good to start with at least one of each basic color, then buy the ones you think you “need” after that. If you can! 🙂

Glad you are feeling better! So far the flu hasn’t hit our house yet. (Knock on wood). Hope Courtney stays healthy. Great card! Will have to try the stencil and oxide technique soon.
