Updated Favorites, Gift Ideas, and GIVEAWAY!

Hi All,

With the upcoming holidays and the great sales that will inevitably force us to spend our money, I thought it was a good idea to re-evaluate favorites and recommendations. I’ve spent the last couple of weeks updating several pages on the site, including:

  • My Favorite Things – A list of all my favorite crafty items, organized by category. My favorite stamps, inks, paper, etc…
  • My Non-Crafty Favorite Things – This list contains lots of kitchen favorites, beauty products, books, and more. I love to buy things that others call their favorites because they are proven awesome. :).
  • Gift Ideas – If you don’t know what you want for Christmas, check out the ideas on this list.
  • Stampin’ Up! Must-Haves – For Stampin’ Up! fans, this list contains my favorite products that are sold only by Stampin’ Up!
  • Getting Started – If you’re at the beginning of this hobby, this list contains some good basics to consider, along with tips for practical purchases.

One of my favorite non-crafty items is a book I mentioned in my last video chat. It’s called Borrowed Courage, and it was written by a friend of mine. I purchased a couple of her books to give away here. Leave a comment below if you’d like to be entered into the drawing. I will pick two winners next Tuesday, November 28th.

I’m sure there will be some sales in the next couple of days. I usually get my wishlist ready ahead of time. When the sale starts, my heart starts pumping and I can’t think – does anyone else have this problem? So, I get ready in advance! Ellen Hutson and Simon Says Stamp both have great wishlist features.

I hope you enjoy these updated lists. Let me know if any questions arise!

I often forget to use my stamping buddy when I use my watermark ink. As I always store my ink pads upside down I found if I nest my stamping buddy in the depression on the bottom of the ink pad (now facing up) I don’t forget to use it. Don’t know why I can’t seem to remember, maybe old age. Thought maybe someone else might have this problem.

Dolores, that is a GREAT idea! I’m going to do that too. I’ve been keeping my embossing buddy in a coffee cup that I usually forget about until I start pouring the embossing powder.
The simplest things can be so brilliant. Good thinking!!

Yes please put my name in the draw for the book. I have recently joined a book club and regained my love of reading.

    Colorful Card Maker

I’ve already gotten a few Christmas gifts. Mom is 90 and has bad knees so she can’t go out and pick out gifts like when she was younger and her knees weren’t bone on bone. We had to go to JC Penny’s so she could get a coat. I went into the girls dept. because that’s where I have to shop. Since I love sparkle on my cards and in my life, mom bought me a shirt with a sequin rainbow on it. It says unicorns & the sequin rainbow. I even got some sparkly slippers and a Disney Cinderella necklace and the sales were amazing! Last but not least from QVC I got a microwave popcorn popper. However, I’m not done by any means and I can’t wait to see what you have on your list as I know there are sales out there right now and mom still had more money to spend on me. I also need gifts for other people so I will be making a list and checking yours twice! LOL
I also love to read and this book sounds very interesting. Please enter me in this contest because if I win, I will surly pass this book around when I am done reading it. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and don’t eat to much turkey! LOL We all have so much to be thankful for at least I know I do. It will be the first Thanksgiving without my dad and that will be sad but I still have much to be thankful for. My dad’s birthday was this month and my parents wedding anniversary, 67 years, would have been last month.

Thanks for some great ideas for gifts, My SIL, who I always struggle on gifts for is a real book lover and won’t use a kindle or any other e-readers so I have good ideas for her now. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

That book name intrigues me. After having Mom here for 9 weeks (In my craft room 😢) because of hurricane Irma and facing surgery next week I can use all sorts of courage, lol.
Thanks for the gift ideas, I will be shopping on line this year, I am not sad about missing the stores.
