Update

Hi All,

I’m just here to report that I have been sick with the flu (and all its lovely symptoms) since Tuesday morning. I was able to get Wednesday’s video post done on Monday, but I couldn’t do anything after that. I’ve been sitting on the sofa watching TV for 3 full days now. All I’ve been watching is News because it allows me to nod off and catch back up quickly. Plus news is kind of like entertainment these days.

My fever still hasn’t broken, but I’ve been on Tamiflu since Tuesday afternoon, so I’m hoping it will be over soon.

All this to say that I have no video for you today. 🙁

I appreciate your understanding and hope to be back soon!

I read your message to my husband just now and he said “Oh, poor thing. Tell her we hope she gets well soon from this awful flu”. Well, I definitely do hope that this happens as soon as possible. I know you have been super careful not to catch the dreaded flu virus this season. But, I guess it was just your turn! As my mother always told me, keep up your fluids and get plenty of rest. Watching cable news these days can make anyone nod off. Sometimes it makes for light entertainment though (ha! ha!).

Darlene, that’s awful!!! 😿 I really hope you get to feeling better soon. My counselor told me that Tamiflu is good stuff and worked for her this year. Hopefully it will work for you as well. Don’t rush your healing just to get a video up. We’ll be here when you’re ready! At least you don’t have to deal with sub-freezing temperatures to boot. Take care, and feel better soon! 😺 ~ Andrea

I agree, Andrea, that Tamiflu can help younger healthy people to have fewer flu complications. But it is not recommended for people over 65 because of certain adverse side effects. That’s why it is only prescribed by a doctor in Australia and not readily available over the counter. It should be a big help to Darlene though. The flu shot this year in the Southern Hemisphere didn’t include the flu strain that’s become such a nuisance this season around the world. Not sure if it got in the flu shot in the Northern Hemisphere but doubt it did.

    Darlene,
Praying for your suffering to end and for your health to improve.
Your energy levels will return I’m sure of it. When I get down like this with the flu or whatever it seems like the rest of the world is going on without me (and it is) but use this time to meditate and concentrate on things you might not otherwise focus on. A timeout now and then gives us more strength for things to come. God speed. Blessings.
