Hi All!
Every year I create a special card to send out to my friends and family – I usually try to create some kind of interactive card or interesting fold. I received a twisted popup card for the foster kids earlier this year and thought it would make a great photo card!
I used the Night in Bethlehem stamp and die bundle from Stampin’ Up!. I love the cityscape dies that come with it. And, I totally love the sentiment:
This type of card is not new – I have no idea who the original creator was. I wish I did because that person deserves the credit for something so creative! There are lots of online tutorials on how to make this card. I modified the measurements a little to make the popup fit a little better inside the card. So, my measurements are down to the 1/16″ – you know how I am about being exacto. 🙂
Here are all the pieces and measurements:
I will be making this card in assembly-line format, so hopefully it won’t take too long to make 30 of them. Wish me luck, lol!
Happy Holidays everyone!

Golly gosh … what a complicated card, Darlene, and to think that you’re going to make 30 of them. Unbelievable! I’d never tackle such a big project but admire you for doing so. I really think it is so striking and will definitely be a standout card for all those who receive it. Thanks so much for sharing it with us. It really makes me aware that time is ticking by and I must get started putting my Christmas cards together. I have them all ready for assembly but just have got sidetracked over the past few weeks.

Lovely card Darlene & your girls are just BEAUTIFUL and their growing up soooo fast. All I can say is you have a lot of patience to make 30 of what looks very complicated to me. You are so talented. I love watching you make all of these gorgeous cards. Keep it up!!

I made this type of card once before, but cannot even imagine making THIRTY of them!!! Thank you for the tip on shortening the white panel by 1/4″. It does make a difference. I don’t remember having that issue with the one I made, but maybe I just got lucky. Anyway, I love the colors you used, and the navy really makes everything pop! Good luck with your mass production! 🙂 ~ Andrea

Such a pretty card it’s made me smile and feel happy, despite being in bed with high fevers. All I can say is do one thing in total like all the cutting while you have the dies out then move onto the next step. I find if I’m making multiples of one design it goes fast that way.
Great to see your. lovely family.

Great card Darlene. I remember going to a class years ago to learn folding cards and this one was included. I have never made one though. I don’t think I have the patience for making them.

Hi Darlene,
Thank you for taking the time to figure out the measurements for this card. I’m so inspired by all your ideas that I’m going to attempt this one for our Chinese New Year card. Luckily I’m home on maternity leave , so I actually have the time to make them! Hope you are having an awesome New Year!
