Hi All!
Surprise – a mid-week video! Today I want to share with you a very totally cool trick for getting your Stampin’ Up! clear mount stamps to actually STICK to the acrylic blocks.
Veronica, one my blog readers, passed this tip along to me. I tried it out and it works! Amazing. It’s so simple too – Tombow Mono Multi-Glue. Watch the video to see:
Be back tomorrow!

I’m so glad you posted this…I haven’t been putting my stickers on and it bothered me to always have to make sure I have the stamp oriented properly. Good info to know! Thanks!

Great tip Darlene, thank you for sharing it and thank you Veronica for sharing your tip with Darlene. I also got so frustrated with this stamps falling from the block so, I just don’t put the sticker on them, instead I apply it to the outside of the box and then, I place the stamp inside under it’s corresponding image. The foam stays put so the stamps are not trashing around inside the box. I like this tip better though so I’m going to give it a try with some new stamp sets I just purchased. Thanks again for sharing this with us.

Brilliant. Works fabulously.

Love ya. Thanks so much for taking the time to show this. You’re an angel

Thanks for the great idea!!

Great idea. I have tried it on several stamp sets and it really works. However, I do have a problem as a consumer, with having to purchase a second product to repair what is basically a defective Stampin’ Up! product. As a Demonstrator for the past two years, I have purchased over 100 clear mount stamp sets – that’s a lot of Tombow! Shouldn’t Stampin’ Up! be addressing the failure of their product to perform to specifications? Sorry for the rant, but this issue is an ongoing annoyance!
I really enjoy your work and greatly appreciate all you give to the card-making world & foster kids!

Holy Smoke! What a great tip! I have a few stamps that drive me crazy because they won’t stick. Will try this tonite! Thanks Darlene and Veronica!

Thank you for a wonderful tip. I have been using removable tape which leaves a terrible residue or leaving the picture off the stamp. Will give this a try.

This is a great tip Darlene, thanks a lot.

I totally agree with Candace and her comment about Stampin Up! fixing this because these stamps are not cheap! Apparently this problem is a headache for lots of us. Thanks Darlene and Veronica!
Catherine
Thanks for sharing Darlene. I have tried this method but also wanted to mention that the Herma Dotto (temporary adhesive) works really well for this problem. Not quite so sticky and messy but stamps still cling well. PS. Loved the last (Fabulous Florets/Pleasant Poppies) card!

Great tip Darlene – thanks Veronica for passing this on to Darlene.

Good to know this since I just found this adhesive at Michaels and they have a coupon for 50% off all their Tombow adhesives this week! I had not needed any adhesives in a long time so didn’t know Michaels had started carrying some Tombow. I usually use Aleene’s Tack It Over and Over adhesive to do what you did with the Tombow adhesive since the Aleene’s works great and is more economical. I was so happy to find that I can get the Tombow adhesive at Michaels. I had been curious about it since a lot of people like it for use on paper, but Stampin’ Up is just too expensive on stuff like that. I never buy anything from SU if I can get the same product or an equivalent product somewhere else at a better price! Must spend those crafting dollars carefully so they go as far as possible! LOL!!

Thanks so much. I haven’t been using the stickers because they would fall off the block. So I will try this this weekend.

Thank you for the wonderful tip!!! 🙂 Nancee

I sat in my craft room tonight and tried the Tombow adhesive. It worked well but I found that a broad tip Zig 2 way pen worked just as well for me and gave a smoother look. I just swiped once or twice and was done. It dries clear, too….and just seemed a bit faster to apply. Same idea and same result…but the broad tip just made application a bit easier for me.
Evelyn
Thanks for the great tip…can’t wait to try it!
Lucinda
I wish I would of know you didn’t know that. I have done it to all of my stamps, and love that glue. May I suggest using the broad end of the glue. The square end had a broad tip. That helps to smooth it out and apply it. Love your videos. Keep up the great work.
Paula
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I’ve been so frustrated with SU clear mount stamps not sticking to the blocks. I was just about to the point of going back to the wood blocks! Now… all is well!
Nancy
Thank you Veronica and Darlene! I’m going to give this a try, I have been leaving the stickers off but hate not being able to see what I am stamping. I totally agree with Candace, why can’t SU come up with something else? Other manufacturers do…
Verna
Thanks so much for this info. What set is the heart stamps from on this page, on the block? Love them.
Darlene DeVries
Hi Verna, it’s actually an old retired set called I {Heart} Hearts.
Gabby
I often use that glue but who knew? I too get frustrated w/my SU cling stamps not sticking to the blocks. THANKS for the terrific tip! 🙂
Di Jackins
THANK YOU! I have been having so many problems (with clean blocks etc) and even new blocks.
I so appreciate this tip – I was almost ready to go back to wood stamps.
Thank you, Darlene, you are a gem!
Laura Krahn
Thank you! I too have been ready to give up on my SU stamps and go back to wood. I do agree that Stampin’ Up! should do something to resolve this issue. Their stamps are too expensive not to work well.
Diana
Darlene – any suggestions on how to get unmounted (naked rubber) stamps to stick to an acrylic block? I have quite a few and attaching them to foam is a pain.
Thanks
Darlene DeVries
Hi Diana, sorry I’ve never tried to do that.
claude
