Hi All,
I’m calling this “swooshy” because of the watercolor technique I used on the trees. I used the same Starry Night Background die I used on THIS CARD. Such a great die!
I used Ranger Enchanted Gold embossing powder for the star. I love it because it’s such a delicate gold:
I’m throwing in a few holiday cards here and there until the big wave comes, lol!
As far as news goes… I added a new module to the site at the top of the right margin. There are so many times I want to tell you something, but I don’t want to write a whole post and bother you with email notifications and all that. So, I added this little area to post announcements and news. Just glance over there periodically.
One other bit of news is about the birthday groups that were launched on Monday. I have completed processing all requests to date, so you should now be able to see your birthday group if you have joined the program. Please check your group to (1) make sure you see the other members and (2) confirm your name, birthday, and mailing address is correct.
Guess what… I have a product review video lined up for distress crayons next week. I’m super-excited about this one. Okay, I think that’s it for now. Have a wonderful weekend!

I love the contemporary look, Darlene! I can’t wait to see the Distress Crayon product review next week!

The swoosh technique is really effective. I just ordered the Twisted Citron ink so I can CASE your card. I’ve stayed away from Vellum for some reason but plan to give it a try especially since I also love my Starry Night die/embossing folder you used.. However, I have Stampin Up vellum. I wonder if it will work as well as the ones you use. Only time will tell! I too am interested in what you have to say about the Distress Crayons on your video. I’ve hardly used mine, preferring my Faber-Castell Gelatos. Maybe I’m not using them correctly. We’ll see!

Love your swooshy Christmas trees! I love Christmas cards – they are by far my favorite to make. I wanted to ask you about the fine tip on your Matte Medium. It doesn’t look like the one Jennifer McGuire uses. Yours looks slightly wider. Where did you get it? Thanks for sharing!!

Yup…I would like to know too. I have the other one and I think it is too small and when the glue gets down about half way, it is really hard to squeeze! ?
Darlene DeVries
Actually, someone gave it to me a long time ago and I don’t have the packaging. It has a ball-tipped pin (like you use for sewing) as its top.

Love the swooshy look. And a great use for vellum. I tend not to use it at all. Now is a good time to try as I have all the product. Great card.

I love the swooshy look. I also love all the colours you used on the tree. I have all of those colours so I can’t wait to give this a go. Thanks Darlene.
Cheryl
Im also interested in the type of tip you use. The one I bought is so hard to use.

Nice card. Like the swooshy technique!!

Love how your trees turned out!

I really love this card. I’m looking forward to the distress crayons. I am wondering how they will compare to the watercolor crayons that Stampin’ Up used to carry, I have them and have really enjoyed them.

Another winner. Your designs are always wonderful.

Hi Darlene, just a thought…if you added perfect pearls, wouldn’t that be pretty? The water color is so soft looking, the PP would make it look like velvet. I bought this set from the clearance rack a long time ago and finally took it out yesterday to use it! Thanks for another idea!?
Darlene DeVries
Yes, good idea, Carol!
