Today, it’s about gift tags. The problem with tags is that they don’t get very much attention. When you give a handmade card, it is the gift. It’s the center of attention. When you give a handmade tag, it’s just a label for the center of attention. Don’t get me wrong – I still want it to look nice and handmade, but I’d rather spend more time on cards that will make more of an impact. Last year I made shaker tags, so if you still want to go all out on the tags, there you go. 🙂
On Friday afternoon, I realized I needed some tags for presents I was bringing with me to a party that night. I thought, “Oh, I’ll just throw something simple together”. Oh, if only things were that simple. It took me awhile to come up with something simple. But once I had the design down, the tags were really quick to make. The tags are little mini-cards that open up for your message.
I thought you guys might benefit from this tag design. I don’t create well under pressure, so if I had this design already done, it would have been soo much easier.
All you need is a stamp set and matching dies. Here are some close-ups of ones I made with Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Pines:
I also made some tags using the same idea, but without the stamp set. I had this snowflake die, so I just used silver glitter paper underneath. For the blue one, I created the glitter paper using Versamark ink and some Vintage Peacock glitter embossing powder.
I dry-embossed the white panel with the Falling Snow embossing folder.
Enjoy the super-quick video and have a great day.

Too cute, love love love the snowflakes! These would be very simple if you were in a pinch to get your Christmas cards done quickly, just make them a standard card size. You’re brilliant, Darlene! =)

Well Darlene, you just convinced me to get this bundle, I’ve been hesitant since I saw it on the SU Holiday Catty, I kept thinking “Ok, this trees are pretty cute but, will I use it enough to justify the price?” The answer is YES!! I love this tags, super easy to do, now I wish I would have ordered this bundle in time for me to make some sets of tags with it to give as gifts for my grandkids teachers, GRR!!
Thank you for this video!
Hugs.
Maria.
