Hi All!
I bought these balloon stencils awhile back but I was too caught up with all the holiday cards to use them. It’s finally time! The set allows you to layer stencils so that you can create patterns on the balloons. Of course, you don’t need these specific stencils for layering – you can layer any stencil.
I wanted to create a really colorful card. Notice that I didn’t add a pattern to every balloon – I thought it would be too busy that way. Also, a little throwback to what used to be one of my favorite added details – drawing an outline around the card. Not sure why I haven’t done it in awhile. It seemed the perfect finish for this card.
Anyway, hope you are enjoying your holiday season.!

I’ve been so preoccupied with making Christmas cards that I completely forgot I’ve got a few birthdays coming up before the end of December, I have a MFT balloon stencil that I’ve been intending to use. So this would be a good time to CASE your adorable card. I especially like the designs on the balloons. So I’ll have to see what other stencils I have in my stash that could be used for this purpose.

After the complexity of all my Christmas cards, this is a breath of fresh air, simple and so vibrant!

Awesome card, Darlene! Love the colors you chose–so bright and happy. I think I will CASE this card. I’m doing 2 card sets–1 each for my counselor & his receptionist–and am kind of on a deadline, since I want to give them as Christmas gifts. So I think I will use this design for a couple for that project. I don’t have any balloon stencils, but I have dies, and can probably make my own stencils from masking paper or acetate. Thank you so much for your timely post! And I hope you are having a wonderful holiday season, too! 🙂 ~ Andrea

I love stencils but I’m not that good at using them though. I got one or 2 for Christmas and I have some that I got years ago. I think I might have balloons too, I have to check. Did you ever do anything with stencils in a video that I could see? I did some painting of stencils on flour sack dishtowels that I was selling at one time but sometimes I want to just use colored pencils.

There is a gallery category for stencils here: https://livelovecards.com/gallery-all/card-videos-by-product-used-2/. Just click on the “stencils” tab. Hopefully you can find some inspiration there. 🙂
