Hi All!
Today’s card is a great card to make when you need something quick for pretty much any occasion. I used embossing paste on top of patterned paper – a secret short cut. If you don’t have a detailed stencil for this purpose, make your own with a detailed die you have on hand.
Here is a close-up of the paste:
Enjoy the video and have a great weekend!

Wow that was a quick and easy card. We all need to have some of these up our sleeves. Thanks, Darlene!

Loved how your card turned out!! I need to use my paste more because it makes the card look so unique!

I like this card. I don’t use my paste very often. Thank you for your videos.

LOOOOOVE the embossing on this simple and quick card Darlene, beautiful paper for the background and the dark black spots are a fabulous detail. When you peeled off the stencil I was hoping you were going to scrape all that extra embossing paste and put it back in the jar, LOL!!
Thank you for sharing.
Hugs.
Maria.

I love how the black mat picks up on the black spatters, and the white mat echoes the embossing paste color. Don’t know if that was your intention, but it’s a great design nonetheless! Great simple card, and I love the final outcome. Now I’ve got to get out some paste and play! Have a great weekend! 😺 ~ Andrea

Great idea doing paste on patterned paper! I think I would use busier paper (that’s just me and I have a ton of it), but I love the outcome! Have a great weekend! 😎

Love this idea Darlene…went to buy the stencil and they are out of stock at SSS.
Have you ever used a metal dry embossing stencil with embossing paste?
I am wondering if it would work. Thought I would ask before trying.
Connie
Why don’t you just use some acetate and make your own stencil by using the die on the acetate in your Big Shot? That always works well.

Hi Connie…great idea, but the metal stencils are not a die, they are stencils for dry embossing using a stylus. I will have to try using the embossing paste with my metal embossing stencils. If they are bent in anyway, the paste may leak under. This was all just a thought.

Hi Dee! I haven’t tried this, but if you’re careful, it might work. I would tape all sides down to make sure it doesn’t move at all. And then after you apply the paste, take all the tape off first, THEN pull the stencil as straight up as you can. Let us know how it goes!
Connie
Thanks for clarifying. I do have a few of the metal stencils but have never used them with the paste. I can’t see why you couldn’t use paste with them though. All you can do is try it to see what happens. Please let us know how it works out!

Love the “what looks like easy!!” card. Could be used for almost any occasion which is handy. The paper pad looks like it would also be a handy pad to have on hand. Thanks Darlene.

Love this card and how quickly it comes together. Like so many here, I don’t use my embossing paste (or Nuvo Mousse) often enough. Thanks for the inspiration!

Wow, that was quick. I love the technique and feel like I can grab any pattern paper, any stencil, and any die/ sentiment to whip up a card. I haven’t used my paste and stencils yet. Thanks.

Hi! I have this stencil and love it. But your card is so beautiful. I love the splashes. As always, you are a hit.
