Shooting Star

Shooting Star

Hi All!

I actually bought this Shooting Star set mainly for the sentiments. I’ve been doing a lot of star-oriented cards recently and I just loved all the cute sayings in this set. I created a little ledge for her to sit on, and then I created the light behind her with Copic markers.

Yesterday I added a new feature to the site – the ability to purchase a gift membership. Maybe a fun Mother’s Day gift for your crafty friend?

In other news, I finally got my Simon Says Stamp order from 2 weeks ago! I’ve never had it take so long. I think maybe all this winter weather delayed it. It has the new black inks I promised to add to my review, so hopefully I’ll post those results next week.

I seriously need to get serious about not buying more stuff.

Enjoy the video and have a great weekend!

Love the card! And…if any of you ladies figure out how to stop buying stuff, please, let me know!!! 🙂

Love your cards, and really appreciate the huge talent you have to convert your very wonderful ideas into a clear and concise video.

Re SSS: Unfortunately, it gets harder and harder to purchase the stamps you use from them as they are out of stock almost immediately, even when they send a notice of the stamp(s) “back in stock”. Processing of shipments have been significantly slower as well over the past several months. Too bad, they had been one of my “go-to” stores.

I bought this stamp set for my mom’s birthday card! I love how you did her hair. I had the hardest time with that! Glad I have your tips now. Thanks for sharing – she is adorable and I, too, think all your yellows matched fine!!!

    Another cute card, Darlene!

I love how you anchored the little girl. I normally leave my images float, because I never seem to know what to do with them. Great class today.

Darlene-you are amazing with Copic Markers. I could watch you color for hours. . .

Patti, thank you – you are very kind. Guess what I did today! I took the Copic Basic Certification class. I LOVED it, and I’m so excited about what I learned. I’ll be sharing it with you soon. 🙂

Cute card, love the idea of the little girl sitting among the stars! Thanks for the clear tutorial.

Very sweet card. I love the sentiments in this set. I usually have to wait between 1 and 2 weeks for orders to come my way, as well. Like another poster earlier stated, too bad it’s a go to store for many of us.

She looks adorable sitting in that star.

Adorable card Darlene, you color her hair masterfully, I need to learn how to do that, I love it. Like Patti said in her comment, I could watch you using your Copic markers for hours.
So sorry your camera turned off but you explain that part that was missing perfectly, thank you.
Now, I noticed that this set has a teeny tiny little star stamp, be careful and don’t loose it like the other one, remember? 😉
Thank you so much for another fantastic video.

Every time I buy something for stamping I swear it will be the last, but I have only proved myself to be full of hot air : ) Funny you should mention it, but I have a SSS package floating around somewhere since the 9th. But I do want to say this is the postal service’s fault…I have always received mine promptly before.

Me too, Julie. I usually receive mine within the week, so I agree it’s probably weather related.

Exactly, there seems to be no end of wanting more new stuff and some of what we have in our drawer doesn’t get used! Let’s challenge ourselves to use old stuff…. or get rid of it. Lol!

Darlene, This card is so adorable. Love to watch you with the copics. I had ordered the blendabilities and now am sorry I did. I just didn’t know where to start with the Copic markers, which ones went together.

Gosh – I think the only way to stop buying more stuff is to stop browsing Pinterest and watching YouTube… But THAT won’t happen unless some one turns off the internet… Seriously though – it does cut down my crafty shopping when I see you demo the same stamp set/products more than 2 or 3 times! Thanks for all the good ideas!

Darlene – not certain how I missed this one. Darling card. I love reading the comments on how to stop buying stuff!! Like that is going to happen…Perhaps you can offer a 12 stamp program for us stampaholics? If SSS gets any of its product from overseas, the shipping issues on the West coast might be a problem. I try, as often as I can, to buy product at my local stamp/scrapbooking store. These stores are closing at a rapid rate and I hate to see that happen. Most of them can order most of what we need and a lot of what we want – so I had to put in a plug for them. I’d better close now and get some cards made. Thanks so much for your wonderful tutorials.
