Hi All!
A couple of notes before I get to the September challenge:
- Starting today you can order from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog. See my haul video HERE in case you missed it yesterday.
- The winner of the August Holiday Challenge is Susie! Congrats Susie, I emailed you.
Now for the challenge…
I thought this theme would be great for this time of year – lots of holiday glitter and shimmer to share. Your card doesn’t have to be holiday (been there last month!). Just add some sparkle and/or shine to any occasion card. Sequins, Stickles, foil, Perfect Pearls… use whatever is in your stash!
If you are new to the community, I encourage you to check out the Challenges Page for detailed information about how the challenges work.
The last day to submit your entry is Wednesday, September 30th, 11:59pm CT. One random winner will be selected from all entries and announced on Thursday, October 1st.
The giveaway will be a $25 gift voucher to Simon Says Stamp, one of my favorite stores!
Even though a random winner is selected at the end of the month, the challenge is open indefinitely. Please continue to post to the challenges. Continuously seeing everyone’s new work is a win for everyone’s inspiration!
Okay, just to recap the main rules:
- Your entry must include sparkle or shine in some way.
- You can submit as many entries as you like! However, please submit only one entry per card.
- After submitting your entry, leave a comment on the entry just before yours.
- Leave more comments on entries, if you’re so inclined. 🙂
- To be eligible for a prize, you must be an active member of LiveLoveCards at the time the winner is announced.

I’ve got MORE snow for today’s card. I’ve been doing a lot of snow recently. Well, here’s yet another way to get some snow effects. 🙂 My snow has lots of sparkle. And I added shine with the star. However, the star of this card is the new stamp and die set I got from the Stampin’ Up! holiday catalog. It’s called Peaceful Pines:
I don’t know if you can tell, but there is a die that creates branches that pop out from your cardstock. Here is a close-up:
I have to admit that Stampin’ Up! hasn’t been so great in the innovative department recently. But, I have to give them credit for this set – I love it!
I used the Woodland Birch embossing folder for my background. I also did the same card with the Falling Snow embossing folder:
Enjoy the video and have fun. 🙂

Oh Darlene, that embossing folder is on it’s merry way to my house along with other SU goodies. The Peaceful Pines bundle will have to wait till next month, I went a bit over my budget for the month of September, but that is ok, what I ordered is so beautiful too.
Both your cards are lovely!!!
And what a fun challenge for September, lots of possibilities.
Hugs.
Maria.

Hello, My name is Jackie and I’m a card crafting addict. I couldn’t resist the peaceful pines bundle.
Ok, I loved this card so much that I ordered the set and a few other things that had been hanging in my shopping bag. Over budget? You bet.
But just think of all the lovely cards I’ll make now that my order is on its way.

Welcome to the club, Jackie. 🙂

Love the cards. I was not going to order the trees because I bought tree from last year, but after seeing what you did, It is on my list. Also the two embossing folders. I was thinking of the leaf stamp and punch. Any thoughts about this?
Darlene DeVries
Hi Susan. Do you mean the flower builder punch? It seems versatile. I don’t have it, but you could do multiple things with it. I do like the multi-stamp poinsettas in that set. Is that the one you are talking about?
Susan Berry
Hi Darlene, Thanks for answering. I guess I didn’t state it right. After getting the correct name what I was talking about was the vintage leaves bundle comes with the framelits. in the regular Stampin Up Catalog.
Darlene DeVries
Oh, I see. I think those stamps would be easy to stamp in various colors and then die-cut out for a card. You could even stamp with multiple colors, either by coloring markers directly onto the stamp or rock-n-roll. However, if you do more coloring, like with Copics or markers or watercolors, I’m not sure they are the best stamp choice. There are a lot of lines inside the image that I personally don’t care for when coloring. So, it just depends how you plan to use the set. Hope that helps!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this beautiful card!!
