I’m back with another card that uses the sketch for the May Challenge. Once again, here is the sketch:
I colored my bear with Copic markers and used rainbow washi tape to create a fun background strip. Here is a close-up:

Thanks, Darlene! Your card for today has given me some ideas for my own Challenge Card this month. I like the way you used the Washi tape and tied in the rainbow colours on the tape with rainbow colours on the umbrella. Very clever!

Cute card! I have a question about the sketch. Does the bottom layer have to be a solid color? I haven’t done sketch challenges before and I’m not sure I understand the rules.

Cheryl, generally in sketch challenges, the elements don’t have to match perfectly. For instance, anything that is solid in the sketch can be patterned, and vice versa. Shapes can differ, too, like the starfish Darlene substituted for the circle in her card on Tuesday. The sketch is just a basic guideline. Of course, you should be able to “see” the sketch in the finished card design, if that makes sense. I’m sure Darlene will chime in to confirm, and maybe clarify! 😺 ~ Andrea
