Hi All,
This is my first Christmas card of the season! I recently used this Quirky Trees stamp set as witch hats. Today I’m using it for its intended purpose – Christmas trees.
I like to play around with different holiday color combos. I kind of like when pink is included. I also like purple, too. What I like about this card is that it’s predictable. You get the same results every time – no watercolor or ink blending guesses. So, if you’re making several cards, it’s a nice option.
Notice that I’m really breaking out of my comfort zone with a non-A2 sized card! This one fits perfectly in a business envelope. I just felt like the A2 size wasn’t big enough for what I wanted to do.
Here is a close-up of the card:
I also created the card with a different color combo – something a little more rich:
I think the lighter one is my favorite. Enjoy the video!

I’m tempted to make this card as it would be pretty quick and easy but very effective. Although I liked your long card, I think you could just use 3 different trees with 3 different colours for a card to fit in a standard sized envelope.

I love how you heat embossed the trees on the colored panels! Such a quick & easy-to-do design, but still with a lot of impact. I just might CASE this design…! Thanks so much for sharing this, Darlene! 🐱 ~ Andrea

WOW!! that is one very versatile stamp set, I loved that card with the witch’s hat and now, you created this super sweet Christmas card, love it, love it, very beautiful and easy to make.
Love the colors you chose for both cards, perfect for Christmas.
Thank you for sharing.

I think this card would be perfect to make in large numbers, simple and effective. Thanks Darlene.

I just love this card. I do think I prefer the darker color combination. Darlene, have you tried the Gina K Connect glue. Just was wondering what your thought were on it if you had tried it. I’ve tried it and think it goes really fast. It is very hard to get the glue out of the bottle when it starts to get low. I didn’t think it was any better than the Tombow so I’ll be sticking with that. Plus the price is better.

No, I haven’t tried that glue. I’ve seen a lot of Gina K products that I think are interesting, but they all seem pretty expensive.

So, so, so cute! I have to try this. A great way to us up all the small pieces of card stock that I can’t bear to throw into the trash. You make it look so easy. I love to watch you create. As for glue, I find that the Tombow white glue stays tacky if any of it gets outside the paper. I use a lot of Aileen’s tacky glue – but the one use the most is PVA from Dick Blick. It’s really just library paste. dries clear. and really prevents any wrinkles in the paper – no matter how thin the paper is.
