I’m back to using black and white with my Crumb Cake. I was able to make 3 cards very easily without wasting any leftover die pieces. I used the Inlaid Squares Cover Plate Die, which I used on this card. It was kind of fun… like doing 3 puzzles.
I’m here with a cute little break from holiday cards with this adorable bunny from the Happy Mail set. I drew in the tree grain lines with a marker. Here is a close-up:
Hope you’re having a great week! Today, in the spirit of the November Kraft challenge, I am using embossing paste on Stampin’ Up! Crumb Cake cardstock. I don’t think I’ve ever colored paste with Copic markers before, but I think it worked pretty well. Here is a close-up:
I like to use black and white on kraft – it makes a very bold card. Enjoy the video!
It’s time for the next challenge! I’m so excited about this challenge because I love using kraft cardstock on my holiday cards – there are so many possibilities!

Today I combined one of Stampin’ Up!’s new colors with Crumb Cake: Shaded Spruce. It’s a very bright yet rich green:
I used the new Critter Sweaters set by Simon Says Stamp. All the lines are separate stamps, so you can combine them however you like. I colored my coffee cup with Copic markers. Here is a close-up:
Enjoy creating your cards – I look forward to seeing what you come up with!
The image is from a Power Poppy set called "Olive and Oak", I stamped it on a piece of watercolor paper with Stazon black ink and colored it with SU markers and damp brushes. The background is embossed with a SU EF but I forget the name.
Christmas Down Under
Well, I can always make another kraft cardstock card! They’re one of my favourites. This one uses a Christmas theme and is done in coloured pencils on Stampin Up Crumbcake cardstock.

I don’t use Kraft cardstock very much. I do like the white and red and black though. I may have to buy some better kraft. This is the cheap stuff from Michael’s. I wanted the bandana paper to appear as a true bandana so I used an edge die to create the triangular look.

Merry Christmas on Kraft.JPG
I used stamps from Gina K Designs, Christmas Blessings and Season's Greetings. These are a few favorites and enjoyable to create with them. I kept this card simple by heat embossing everything with Wow Pale Gold embossing powder. Thanks for looking. Lisa

Santoro I Love You Little Rabbit Card
Santoro Stamps are always fun to colour with Copics but I used coloured pencils for this card on crumbcake cardstock.
Mistletoe on Kraft.JPG
I used a stamp from Stately Flowers 5, by Gina K Designs, and a greeting from Season's Greetings. I wanted a bow and needed a longer chain, so I pulled out a set from Maymay Made It, called Christmas Instawreath to add those elements. I colored the berries and leaves with colored pencils. I added the shine with Versamark or a Versamarker and clear embossing powder. I enjoyed making this card.

Old Simon Says Stamp Stamp and Darice embossing folder.
Used holographic embossing powder for the snowflakes (wished I used white), the silver stripe is foil flakes from Heidi Swapp, Merry Christmas stamp from the Ellen Hutson Modern Christmas set. Added some sequins.
Thinking of You
Thanks for this challenge. I used SSS hearts background with versa mark ink and white embossing powder. Heat embossing is a challenge for me at the best of times. I should have re-inked the versa mark pad first. I always seem to get powder where I don't want it, then I try to remove it, but it still shows up in places. I did use embossing buddy but I don't think it works for me. Any ideas? Thanks for looking!
Winter Scene on Kraft
Snow done with a gel pen and white pigment ink. Idea from a tutorial on Stamp Nation.
I used a stamp from Susan Branch, "All Night Media," named "Cookie Jar." The poinsettia stamps are from an older Stampin' Up set. Hope you enjoy.

Flower?
Copics on SSS/Tim Holtz image. Is that thing a flower or a succulent or a pinecone?
Succulent?

More kraft cards
I don’t generally reach for Kraft Cardstock, so this has been a real challenge. Image by Avery Elle colored with Copics. The frame is one of leftover pieces from the mats I made for last year’s cards. Ha - couldn’t bear to toss them out. So happy to use them up!
Rudolph Presents
Another card I made for Send a Smile 4 Kids. The image is actually 2 stickers that I combined. Tfl! 🙂
Santa Banners
Another Send a Smile 4 Kids cards. I got 3 sets of stickers at Hobby Lobby, & I've been making kid-themed holiday/winter cards for them like crazy, with the idea to use all the stickers! I'm making sure to add them to designs, though--no sticker sneeze! 🙂
Christmas on Kraft.JPG
I used the flower from the Blended Season stamp set. It was heat embossed in a Pale Gold color from WOW. I used the blending pencil from Prismacolor to blend my 3 reds together, 3 greens, etc. The Merry die was in my stash and I had never used it before. I won this die in a Online Card Class a few years ago and can't remember who made it. I used my MISTI to stamp the flower, then to stamp the Christmas word. It needed to fit between the letters of Merry and I didn't want to change messing it up, so I used my MISTI.
I made this in September. I am posting it here as it is on Kraft. I loved coloring card. I may make a few more. Thanks for looking!

Birthday Card
Designed and cut the card front in the Pazzle Inspiration software and cut the design on craft wood grain paper. In the background I used patterned paper.
Birthday Card
I used the cut outs from the previous card to create a shaker card. The letters are craft wood grain card stock that I colored with Shabby Shutters distress ink. The inside of the card has really sparkly bits that are for used for nail art. I love the bright sparkle! The background frame is pattered paper.
Thank You Card
The leaves are stamped and embossed and then colored with distress ink & sponge daubers. The background panels are wood grain card stock inked on the edges with Brushed Corduroy. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp-Handwritten Border and embossed with WOW gold.

SSS Furry Christmas Card
This Simon Says Stamps Furry Christmas stamp was coloured with Faber-Castell Polychromos coloured pencils and blended with a Finesse Coloured Pencil Blender Pen on Stampin Up Crumbcake cardstock. The snow was achieved with WOW Sparkling Snow Embossing Glitter.
Pencil on kraft
Faber Castell pencils on Neenah Desert storm; image by Avery Elle. I tried really hard to give the flowers dimension. Phew - it took forever and these are small images - but I’m happy with them.
Kraft Blended Seasons by Lisa K
I saw an idea where the demonstrator watercolored the holly image on Kraft paper. I gave it a try using SU Watercolor Pencils. I think Prismacolor pencils work better on Kraft, but this came out okay. I embossed everything with Wow Pale Gold embossing powder. I added gold embossing around the paper for interest. I found gold ribbon in my stash and added the bow using glue dots. The stamp set used is Blended Seasons by SU. Thanks for looking.
Laurel Burch Festive Felines
When I saw this stamp, I just had to have it! And I also knew it would be perfect to colour with Faber Castell Polychromos pencils on Stampin Up Crumbcake cardstock. I roughed the edges because that seemed to suit the style.
More plump pumpkins!
Just had some fun with making cards this season!
Warmest blessings
I was working to create a theme around the leaf!
Fall leaves
I was sorting through stuff on my craft table as I was working, and threw some things to the side. Later I glanced over and noticed how they had landed and suddenly I liked that look.
May your pumpkins be plump!
Enjoyed trying this, after I saw a similar card on Pinterest
A friend is music to the ears
Was trying to use music as a background for a friend who is a pianist.
Pastor Appreciation Card
When I saw this month’s challenge, I said I wouldn’t enter it because I don’t like making cards on Kraft paper. But then I realized that two of them I had made qualified! I guess it goes with that time of year. My husband asked me to make a card for our belated Pastor Appreciation celebration. This was quick and easy. And while it doesn’t show well, the envelope and the sentiment are embossed in gold.
Campfire Birthday Card
We were invited to a birthday party with a camp theme, so I did a quick search and found a card for inspiration. I think some of Darlene’s tutorials sunk in as I had the idea to personalize it, but even more of a realization was after I had colored my marshmallows, I thought that I remembered Darlene coloring marshmallows with Copics in a video previously. I thought this added a lot to them rather than just leaving them white.
Kraft Holiday Challenge
I cheated a bit this year and used paper and embellishments from the Prima Santa Baby line. I had already decided to use Kraft Cardstock for my mats and/or bases before the challenge was announced, so yay!. This is one of my favorites. Unfortunately the sparkle from the glitter paper isn’t showing on the photo very well.
Santa Baby
See description on previous card. Love this Prima release.
Prima Santa Baby
Another one of my favorites. Have to say these were really fun to make.
Mr. Snowman!
Mr. Snowman 's background is Kraft paper with sky, snowflakes
This card by Sherry is absolutely amazing – all freehand. And so creative! If you read her description, it’s a very personalized card. I want to be Sherry’s friend. 🙂
Next is this card by Jan. I love her use of color. Halloween colors, including black, show through the holes:
I think this design is great for any occasion or holiday. Holiday colors for Christmas, pinks/reds for Valentine’s Day, pastels for Easter… you get the idea. Add an appropriate sentiment and you’re done. Jan used alcohol inks, but you could use Colorburst powders and get a nice effect.
Sarah used her little Halloween critters very creatively on this card:
Putting them in front of a streetlight and then having it look like the mummy is tied to it is awesome! I love when someone can pull different stamp sets together and make it look like they were meant to be together. Great job!
Finally, this easel card by Chris:
Those veins in the head are really creepy! But, she made it adorable and less scary with the glasses. She submitted another one I liked with a black cat. Fun designs for a fun holiday.
Thank you again to everyone who participated. I’ll be back in a few to launch the November Kraft Challenge!
I’m celebrating Halloween with a Christmas card, lol. Seriously, I’m pretty sure everyone is done creating Halloween cards. Once I get started on Christmas cards, I usually get so excited that I can’t stop. So, you’ll see me creating quite a few over the next month or so. But don’t worry if you don’t make Christmas cards. There will be plenty of techniques and designs to apply to any occasion.
For today’s card, I used Stampin’ Up! Winter Woods again. I used it previously on this card. I really love this stamp set! I used distress markers to stamp the tree and then used Sparkling Snow embossing powder for the snow. This embossing powder is one of my favorite products – it’s glitter mixed with white embossing powder. It’s gorgeous! Here is a close-up:
I’m really starting to get into the Christmas card-making mood. I love using navy and silver – it’s such an elegant combination. I die cut several snowflakes and adhered them to the background. Another option is to just use a snowflake embossing folder. Here is a close-up:
Rather than going with a holiday-themed challenge this month, I’m going with a color… kraft. Or, crumb cake if you prefer. I absolutely love using this color, and I especially love it in November when we in the US have Fall and Thanksgiving. I have several different brands of kraft cardstock, but I almost always go for Stampin’ Up! Crumb Cake.
This is my first Christmas card of the season! I recently used this Quirky Trees stamp set as witch hats. Today I’m using it for its intended purpose – Christmas trees.
I like to play around with different holiday color combos. I kind of like when pink is included. I also like purple, too. What I like about this card is that it’s predictable. You get the same results every time – no watercolor or ink blending guesses. So, if you’re making several cards, it’s a nice option.
Notice that I’m really breaking out of my comfort zone with a non-A2 sized card! This one fits perfectly in a business envelope. I just felt like the A2 size wasn’t big enough for what I wanted to do.
Here is a close-up of the card:
I also created the card with a different color combo – something a little more rich:
I think the lighter one is my favorite. Enjoy the video!
I’m using my Color Burst powders today. I only have the Brights set, but I find that they are totally sufficient for my enjoyment! They give the brightest and most vibrant look of all my color mediums.
I created my own background with all the butterfly stamps that come with this Pink Ink Butterfly Kisses set. The quality is great, and I love the images. Here is a close-up:
