Peaceful Pine

Happy Halloween!

I’m celebrating Halloween with a Christmas card, lol. Seriously, I’m pretty sure everyone is done creating Halloween cards. Once I get started on Christmas cards, I usually get so excited that I can’t stop. So, you’ll see me creating quite a few over the next month or so. But don’t worry if you don’t make Christmas cards. There will be plenty of techniques and designs to apply to any occasion.

For today’s card, I used Stampin’ Up! Winter Woods again. I used it previously on this card. I really love this stamp set! I used distress markers to stamp the tree and then used Sparkling Snow embossing powder for the snow. This embossing powder is one of my favorite products – it’s glitter mixed with white embossing powder. It’s gorgeous! Here is a close-up:

Darlene, I’m so glad that you made another card using this wonderful stamp set. It’s one of my main sets this year for Christmas cards and I love this way you’ve designed this card so much. Thanks for giving me inspiration once again.

That tree came out fantastic! And you’re right–it does look like it has bits of snow on the branches. Great save on the ground, too. Of course, if you wanted it to be a Texas Christmas card, you could have just painted the ground green! LOL Anyway, I just finished making 20 Christmas cards AND 20 gift card holders for a holiday show/sale in Austin, and mailed them off yesterday. So I’m currently taking just a bit of a much-needed break from card making. I actually made 18 of the gift card holders in 2 (yes, TWO) days, and the cards–all different–in a little over a week–whew! I know I need to get going on my “regular” holiday cards, but not today. I was so glad you had a video up today, Darlene–it’s been an aggravating day so far. But I feel better now, so thank you for that! Hope you have an awesome day! 🐱 ~ Andrea

Oh wow, you’ve done it now I’ve got those Christmas Tingles and jingles starting up big time. Wonderful card and makes me wish, just for once for a “white Christmas”. We will most likely be swimming and needing the air con on for the big day but this has such appeal.

Love this card so much! You’ve made it look easy. (already knowing my first version of casing your card would make a funny “nailed it” meme.) I echo your desire that Stampin Up moves the stamp set to the regular catalog, it is gorgeous. I also echo Connie’s remark. Secretly hoping to see more cards from you using this stamp set 🙂

I thought the tree looked great after your first stamp in the Misti, but what do I know…this tree is beautiful! I will have to get it before the holiday catalog ends. I was thinking this set would give Lovely as a Tree a good run for their money! I have a craft show at the end of November and have 145 xmas cards made…now, like Andrea, now I have to get going on my own friends and family xmas cards!

Beautiful card Darlene. Love the simple design and the snowflakes are wonderful. Wish there was a way to just buy that stamp alone.

This came out just beautiful! I am happy that I purchased this set for myself as I can’t wait to re-create it.
