  1. PanPastel Rainbow

    PanPastel Rainbow

    Hi All!

It has been awhile since I used my PanPastels, so I thought I would break them out for this Center Cut Geometric Pattern stamp. I did a video series about a year ago on PanPastels – you can find all the videos HERE.

I embossed my Happy sentiment with Black Sparkle. Here is a close-up:

  2. August Challenge Heads Up!

    August Challenge

    Hi All!

Are you ready for another challenge? This one is going to be interesting… this month we are focusing on color. One color. It’s a monochromatic challenge! That means you use one color for your card. You can also throw in some neutrals… black, white, kraft, brown, etc. You can also use multiple shades of the color you choose, but you can only choose one color. For example, let’s say you choose green – maybe some nice leaf stamps. Use can use garden green, green apple green, evergreen, pistachio, and any other shade of green you like. I hope this makes sense. If you have any questions, please note in the comments.

There are still 5 days left in the July Favorite Color Combo Challenge. Each upload gets you a chance to win a $25 gift voucher to Simon Says Stamp!

    Good luck!

  3. Partial Stamp Highlighting

    Partial Stamp Coloring

    Hi All!

I just got the City Stack set by Concord & 9th. I bought it because it has 3 different landscapes – I love a set that has lots of options. For this card, I used only the houses and one of the sentiments.

I made a few mistakes in the video, so there’s also a little entertainment today. 🙂

I find myself getting cleaner and cleaner with my cards – I like to keep it basic without a lot of fluff. I don’t know if it’s because that’s the trend or just that my preference has changed. My cards have always been on the clean side, but I’m leaning towards more white. Have you noticed?

Anyway, enjoy the video and have a great weekend!

I’m using one of my favorite color combinations today… Ripe Persimmon, Picked Raspberry, and Seedless Preserves. And for something different, I inked it diagonally.

The Big Thanks die is new by Simon Says Stamp – it’s the perfect size and contains a coordinating shadow die. I popped up the negative of the shadow so my sentiment was beneath. Here is a close-up:

  5. Stencil Embossing and Inking

    Embossed and Inked Stencil

    Hi All!

For today’s card, I dry embossed using the Star Medallion Stencil and then inked the raised areas using the same stencil. It gives a beautiful look, especially with a stencil as detailed as this one. Here is a close-up, although it’s hard to see the raised area in the photo:

    Embossed and Inked Stencil

It’s easy and very quick to do, if you need a card in a hurry. I spent more time on the sentiment! Enjoy the video.

    Pull Apart Birthday Card

    Pull Apart Birthday Card

    Hi All!

Today’s card is really easy to make, but it takes awhile because it has a lot of detail. I used a bunch of different stamp sets to create it, including one of my favorites… Page Huggers. I have used this set so many times!

Here is a few more photos of the details:

  7. Throwback Thursday!

    Throwback Thursday

    Hi All!

The purpose of Throwback Thursday is to “repurpose” some of the older content, making it new again. With the hundreds of videos, you probably have forgotten or maybe missed some of the old stuff. So, once a month I’m here with a fun reminder.

With this month’s challenge of favorite color combos, I decided to throwback to a post that has 3 great color combos. These color combinations are ones that are close to each other in the rainbow and ones I use all the time. I also like the technique, too!

See the post for details and a video. Have a wonderful day!

  8. Jazz Dance Circles

    Jazz Dance Circles

    Hi All!

I’m using another product from the new Simon Says Stamp release called Jazz Dance Stencil. It has some cool and interesting overlapping circles. I used some silver embossing paste with it, and I think makes a great masculine card.

I talk in the video about using too much paste, which causes the paste to pull up a bit when you remove the stencil – see my case in point:

  9. Debra Die with Ink Sprays

    Ink Sprays

    Hi All!

Today I am breaking out my ink sprays, which I haven’t used in awhile. I’m also using the Debra die again, which I used as a background on this card.

Sprays can be pretty messy, so I have a dedicated cardboard box I use every time to contain the over-spray. I added Perfect Pearls spray for some shimmer. Here is a close-up:

One of my very favorite combinations is pink, orange, and red, with a black highlight thrown in. Here is my card:

    Color Combos

I find that leaving a lot of white makes your colors stand out even more. I used the new Debra die by Simon Says Stamp to create a background impression. The flower is the center part of the Fancy Flower stamp I used on this card.

Enjoy the challenge. I look forward to seeing your combinations!
