Oh, Manatee

Oh Manatee

I seriously love this stamp set. Gerda Steiner designs are so adorable! You have to see the inside of this card to appreciate it…

Oh Manatee

Oh my, I love it, lol! Here is a close-up of the coloring and also the tea bag I added:

Oh Manatee

I used Vertigo paper for the water – it’s a fantastic product for this purpose. This card uses the Rattlesnake design. I have used the Pebbles pattern on this card and the Taffeta pattern on these tags. The popular online craft stores don’t seem to be carrying it anymore, but I’ve seen it at my local JoAnn’s and also JoAnn’s online (looks like the Rattlesnake is currently out of stock). Imagine Crafts sells it through Amazon as well, and some of the patterns are Amazon Prime.

Enjoy the video. I’ll be back tomorrow with the March challenge heads up – Spring is arriving for those of you in the Northern hemisphere!!

Well, there you go! I didn’t know sea cows were officially called Manatee. I’ve learned something new!! This card is so adorable. I can see my Otter stamp used on a similar card. That Vertigo paper is great too. So thanks for letting us know it is getting scarce to find. I’ll have to stock up.

Oh wow!! US$15.00 + for ONE 12″x 12″ sheet of paper!!?? Canadian is even more expensive, but I did find a different pattern priced at CDN$13.85. Still way too much for my budget, as beautiful as it is.

Hi Carole. For some reason, the prices vary quite a bit by pattern. Your best bet is JoAnn’s, where the package of 3 6×6 sheets is $5. There are also a couple of patterns that are cheaper on Amazon. Not sure why the rattlesnake is so much more expensive. Of course, I don’t know how the pricing differs in Canada. I would try a local craft store if you have one.

Yes the less expensive pattern was “Breeze” for CDN 13.68 for 3 6’x 6″ sheets. The next was my favorite “Taffeta” at CDN $28.78 for 3 6″x6″ sheets. A lot of the cheaper priced articles are shipped from the US, and may add to the cost. Thanks for the advice, Darlene, I’ll keep looking. Or maybe when my hubby goes to Houston next week I’ll send him shopping for me LOL 🙂

Darlene, thanks for this info, I felt the same as Carole, so I am going to check out Joann’s! LOVE the card and using that paper for water. 🙂

Just got some Vertigo in Pebbles (my favourite) on Ebay for AU$8.50 with free shipping. Might pay to look on Ebay as I find that often they are cheaper than anywhere else.

Thanks Connie, I will look there 🙂 Aussie dollar is almost equal to Canadian right now, and even with shipping, it may be cheaper. Hubby is going to Houston on Mar 4., so if he doesn’t find it there, I’ll go to e-bay. This is the guy who texted me from Midland Texas when he was in Hobby Lobby because they had a 40% off sale on stamps. He went thru several stamps and asked if I would usethat one… or this one… Oh look- it’s a Charlie Brown Christmas tree Stamp! Woud I use a sock monkey stamp ?? LOL What a guy- I think I’ll keep him :0 ( Oh hell it’s been 44 yrs, I may as well )

Sounds like you’ve got a super cool hubby. Hope he finds what you want.

I LOVE that greeting, Darlene! Though it did take me a minute to get it–even with the tea bag label! I think the inside sentiment helps even more with figuring out the front one. That Vertigo paper is so cool, though I think I’ll pass on getting any. I have WAAAAAAY too much paper as it is, and I’m afraid it would just get lost and never used. Sigh! Anyway, great save on getting the “water” to fit behind the die cut opening–whew! Thanks so much for sharing this–helps take my mind off the massive plumbing/sewer problem we have going on here, on top of other issues that have been going on. 😛 I needed a good laugh! 😺 ~ Andrea

Oh how adorable is this card. The play on words is really my “cup of tea”….
That background paper is just beaut for the water and Ive not heard of it
before your video so will have to investigate. Its just the thing and so easy
to come together. The die is also fabulous, love the shape and bubbles it creates.

Never even knew about Vertigo Paper. Guess I live in a cave! I do know I want to “step up my game” with the insides of cards!
Not that I would ever enter (no clue how to post a photo) but a challege for INSIDE CARDS might be great for me to VIEW!!! Just a thought………

I love this card, Darlene. I remember when you used this paper with your fishbowl and I thought that was really clever!

    Thanks for sharing!
