Monochromatic Background Highlighting

Background Highlighting

Hi All!

Today’s card is really super easy, but it looks like it’s not! You can use this technique with any background stamp where you can partition out part of it to highlight/color.

I also added some shimmer to the flowers with my Wink of Stella pen. Here is a close-up:

I’ll be back in 2017 with the January Challenge Launch on Monday! Happy New Year!

This card is so dramatic. I love its elegant simplicity too. For some time I’ve had the Sketched Roses background stamp in my Wish List but other things seem to keep taking precedence. I will definitely move this background stamp to the top of my list for early 2017! In the meantime, I have another background stamp that will work almost as well. Hope Courtney is back to good health again and the entire family are able to bring in the New Year together.

That’s a great idea Darlene! It looks so elegant! Also, I want to thank you for setting up the birthday group and the Christmas Card group. I have met some lovely ladies that I otherwise would have never known and their cardmaking has been fabulous. So thank you, thank you, thank you and Happy New Year!

Wow, I love this card Darlene! It’s so pretty and looks more difficult than it was. I really thought, “yeah, I don’t think this is going to be easy!”. But wow, how easy and what a classy and elegant looking card! Hugs, Brenda

Wow…love this card! Would make a beautiful wedding or sympathy card too! I, like Connie, have been putting off buying that background stamp but have just added it to my next order! Darlene, I finally invested in the Happy Pandas stamp set and dies and love it!! I have reproduced your cards from my favorites! Happy New New and hope Courtney is on the mend!?

Stunning card, Darlene! I especially like the elegance of the black, gray and white combination. I have added the stamp to my wish list. Thank you for sharing.

I love this card, what a great idea. I have the stamp and just use it as an embossed background stamp to ink over. I see a few of these being done this weekend 🙂

    Colorful Card Maker

Great card! I’ll have to watch the video to see how you did it. I love the glitter from the Wink of Stella. I am a glitter freak! I wish the world was covered in different colors of glitter. LOL It sure is a different card. I wonder if you could do it with the white and just 2 other colors? When I watch your video I will see if that’s possible.

Hi Colorful. I’m not sure I know what you’re asking. Did you figure it out from the video?

This a beautiful elegant card. It was easier than I thought it would be. I’ll have to put that stamps on my list of “needs”.
