May Challenge Results

Hi All!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the May Sketch Challenge! I think this challenge was my favorite of all the challenges we have done here. I was so impressed with so many of the entries! You must check out the entries when you have a few minutes.

This month’s random winner of the Simon Says Stamp $25 gift voucher is entry #8 by Sarah. Sarah submitted 7 cards to this challenge and they were all fabulous. I am highlighting a couple of them below. Congrats Sarah!

My first highlight is Sarah’s panda card:

Sarah

The sun with the explosive rainbow behind that cute little guy was a great use of the sketch! Sarah also created this fantastic card:

I don’t even know where to start. First of all, the use of the streetlight for the sketch middle bar element was very, very clever! And the circle behind it, highlighting the light from the lamp… and all that shimmer?! Seriously awesome.

Another extremely creative use of the sketch is this camera card by Chris:

Chris

The filmstrip for the middle bar element – I love it!!

Next is this cute little bee card by Crystal:

Crystal

I love the use of black and yellow – it’s so bright and cheery. The colors are so well balanced! I also really love how Crystal extended the bee trail over the other two corners of the card. It gave the white area just that little perfect something.

Another interesting use of the sketch was stamping the middle bar element, like this one by Anita:

Anita

It didn’t occur to me to just simply stamp that element – very creative!

Finally, this fun, bright card by Annie:

Annie

I love all the rainbow colors and also the bold black sentiment in the middle. I noticed that she started the rainbow on the top and the bottom with pink. And, she used that same color to outline the elements. It really tied the card together so nicely! I usually just do a rainbow top to bottom, so I appreciated this little detail.

Thank you so very much to everyone who participated. This challenge was definitely a fun one! I’ll be back shortly with the launch of the June “Bottom Heavy” Challenge.

I’m absolutely gobsmacked by the fantastic entries this month. We really have some awesome card-makers in LLC! Congratulations Sarah. You definitely deserved to win the random draw and I really loved your panda card so much. It is so cute. I fully intended to enter this month’s Challenge too but time just got away from me. I’ve already got an idea or two for the bottom heavy challenge though. I can hardly wait to see what the others come up with.

Like Connie, I had good intentions…but May was a busy month at work and I have discovered the art of making mini albums! I will really try for June, but leaving white spaces on my cards is like Darlene using design paper! It is not my comfort zone, but I will see what I can come up with! Congrats Sarah!

Yay Sarah, fantastic cards and such inspiration. I loved all the cards this month and there was a lot of
thinking outside of the box which was exciting. Fabulous efforts everyone.

Congrats, Sarah! Thanks, Darlene, for the shout out too! I like sketch challenges, especially when the mojo goes MIA and I just stare at my craft desk and move things around…LOL!
