May Challenge Heads Up!

May Challenge Heads Up

Hi All!

Are you ready for another challenge? It seems like we just get started with a challenge and then before you know it, it’s time for the next one! For May I thought we would do something we haven’t done before here – a sketch challenge. I haven’t done a lot of these types of cards because I’m usually unwilling to give up my freedom with how I want the card to look. But… that’s what challenges are for, right?

I created a sketch that I thought would be pretty easy to adapt to a lot of different themes and styles. I was able to quickly create two cards with it (which I will post next week), so hopefully you will also find it enjoyable to work with. Here is the sketch:

There are still 6 days left in the April Dry Embossing Challenge. Each upload gets you a chance to win a $25 gift voucher to Simon Says Stamp!

Enjoy your week and good luck!

Hard to believe April is going to be over already! April is one of my favorite months. I still haven’t figured out what I’m going to make for the April challenge but the sketch challenge for May looks like fun. Looking forward to seeing everyone’s creations.

WOW!! that is one fabulous sketch, Darlene!!! I LOVE A SKETCH, to me it’s like a map that I can easily follow because the design of my cards is the most difficult aspect of making them.
I’m really happy about this sketch, can’t wait to try it.

You always come up with something, Darlene, to keep us interested. This sketch will do just that. It’s already got me to thinking of possibilities. I too am looking forward to the challenge!

Hi again Darlene. I didn’t know where to put this message but thought you and some of the others might like to watch our Australian and New Zealand cardmakers in an Anzac Day blog hop. Today is Anzac Day, which is a big holiday over here. In the first video, Helen will tell you all about it. The link is: https://youtu.be/iTxCZAUxJPY

Sorry. I don’t understand what is meant by sketch. Do we have to draw something? Looking forward to seeing the examples to put me on the right path.

No drawing required! A sketch is a layout for a card. In mine, for example, you have en element in the middle with a strip behind and a sentiment underneath. The sketch is flexible – the circle doesn’t have to be a circle – it can be a creative element. I’ll have two examples next week to show you. 🙂
